i've finished Super Mario RPG already on SNES (i miss my Cartridge T_T hehe)

i just want to ask if the Super Mario RPG (SNES) is connected at Paper Mario on N64, Paper Mario: Thousand Doors on GC

and Paper Mario on Wii?

story-wise.. um are their stories are connected to each other? or they are SEQUEL games? or INDIVIDUAL/STAND ALONE games?

There's nothing between the original on N64, the GameCube game and Super Paper Mario. They are all stand alone.

It's still a good game and introduces you to the mechanics and puzzles that'll be in TTYD your call though...

I'd recommend starting off with the original Paper Mario on the N64.It is a superb title, will get you familiar with some of the elements in Thousand Year Door, and is at the amazing price of only $10 on the Virtual Console. And while you could always play Super Paper Mario before those two titles, there are quite a few funny references in the game that you probably wouldn't catch if you didn't play the other two Paper Mario games first.

While not connected story wise, it's still a good idea to play it, if you enjoy the characters and it's a really fun game. I wouldn't skip it if I were you.

And just as a warning, let me tell you that the Paper Mario games are heavily text-filled (especially Super Paper Mario). There is a lot of reading at timeS,but the ironic part is that it is well-written and quite funny.A lot of the enjoyment I've gotten out of the Paper Mario games came from the top-notch dialogue, and if you sit down and read it,you will enjoy yourself,as well.Just be prepared to read a lot.:P

you should check all of them out. i had the one for gc and bought the one for the wii and they are both great titles. im debating if i should get the n64 version though, but i have heard it's a great game so i might pick it up. i mean, i can download it so i don't have to worry about looking for an old game.

I haven't played Mario RPG yet (I wish that it would come out for the VC :(), so I can't say how it compares to the Paper Mario games.

Personally I think that the original Paper Mario game is the best, due to its humor, story, levels, and sidequests/mini-games. The other 2 are really good too, though. But just so you know, Super Paper Mario isn't an RPG like the others, it's more of a mix between a platformer and RPG. It's a really fun game, but unfortunately pretty easy, and those who wanted a true sequel to the other RPGs will have to wait longer. But I'd definitely recommend getting all of them if you can because they're definitely great games which are welcome additions to the Mario universe.

i rented the gamecube paper mario and never got into it but decided to give paper mario on the virtual console a try. I have never beaten a game so fast in my life and i don't mean that in a bad way. it was pretty long but i just loved it and played it nonstop. it makes me wanna try the gamecube paper mario again.

Honestly, if you were to skip any of them, skip Super Paper Mario for Wii as its not an RPG like the others. Its a platformer so if you want something like Super Mario RPG, then get Paper Mario 64 or Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door.

Don't miss it. The first Paper Mario is by far the best.
