what do you think about Super Paper Mario no longer being a turn based RPG? The next best mario rpg since, well mario rpg is now moving towards platformer? though it still has rpg elements such as experience points and an inventory, the attack style is no longer turn based changing one of the best "paper mario" elements into something that probably shouldnt be called paper mario. will it be the same? what do you think? are you still gunna play it?

i think nintendo better make this game pretty damn good to make up for that element they lost.

Though not really the same, look at FF12. They scarapped the turn-bases thing and it was definately a vast, VAST improvement. Super Paper Mario definately looks good for what we have seen so far, but you are right, if they change too much, they might very well see one of their most reputable spin-offs go right down the drain.

IMO I think the RPG would have been better. I had a LOT of fun with The Thousand Year door on the GC. I guess a platformer would be good to I guess, especially since it's coming out of the same developers who make really great games.

It's "Super Paper Mario" not "Paper Mario 3" I would only worry if the game was called paper mario 3 and it was a platformer. This game just wants to do the same paper style like they did with rpgs but this time with platformers.

I think I missed alot of major updates on this game. Whats the combat style now? It wouldn't make sense to have the stats system if it were just another Mario platformer.

Paper Mario was far to simplified anyway. Hopefully a shift away from so much RPG will open the door for a new take on Mario RPG (Return to a Square collaboration, although unlikely, would be great).

As long as they make another Paper Mario RPG, I'll be happy. :)

If they don't, well......let's say it will be a big mistake on Nintendo's part. The last thing we need at this point is yet another Mario sidescroller. :P

So long as they make a turn based paper mario, which will most likely come in 2 or 3 years (sounds like a natural fit for the wiii mote), I'm happy

Plus the ability to swith between 2 or 3 d sounds frikin awesome,
