The show is for kids, the game is for everyone. Pokemon is really deep, most people dont know that. Someone who knows how to train their pokemon will slaughter a kids pokemon. Having the right EV/IV and move set will pwn any kids pokemon who just level it up to 100.p3anut
He is ssssssssssooooooooooooo right and iam 23 years old and i still play pokemon.
I'm 17 and play it. Hellyeah.
When people make fun of me I ask them if they remember Rin & Stimpy. Most say "Oh yeah". So I ask if they would watch it if the series had continued.
Akward, embarassed silence follows.
ppl did that to me 2! one guy said do you play pokemon???
I said yeah..
he then said to his friends he's still a kid..
then one of his friends said that his bro is 18 and still plays pokemon...
then they all started laughing
.....................................................................................................
then they started bashing pokemon saying it was lame
(they were like 26 yr. olds so they wouldn't understand)
Ha. Dont be ashamed. When someone asked me if i played pokemon in the middle of English class, i said yeah. My friend who also plays pokemon was sitting beside me looking embarrassed as the class laughed.
My point is, don't be ashamed to follow what you believe in. Don't cave to peer pressure or whatever its called, just follow your own path. A person has thanked me before because I stood up for what I believe in. That means a lot, and reminded me I was doing the right thing.
But also try not to make a fool of yourself at the same time. You'll know if you go too far.
Well, its not that pokemon is a kid game, its that their minds have adapted to..well...violent, sexual (most in my school) , or other content that they found suited for them.
I remember one day during recess me and my 2 friends were playing pokemon together. 4 kids were picking on this other kid for playing the game. i stood up for him and fought them the other day. i got a nose bleed and a bruised chest, but i still did alot of damage. Now that kid is one of my best friends.
Im in 8th grade, trust me, if you think your the only one getting picked on, your not alone.......
Thats what some dude said in my class. I swore at him. He shut up.Toro_Nev
You sure showed him a thing or two about maturity!
Take a note from a principle by the woman in my signature, forget other people's opinions. If you like Pokemon, then play it. The approval of others, in cases like these, is irrelevant.
Yup, age doesnt matter, I'm 20 and proud to play pokemon. Its a fun game, why deny myself a fun game just becuase some people may think its "childish". Atleast thats how i look at it.
Life is about having fun, words can be harsh, especially from peers your own age. But the only thing you can do is ignore them, and just let it be. In the end they are the ones losing, not you. Losers make in fun of others, simple as that.

Yeah people called me a boo-hoo kid when i bought pokemon and i started to cry but thank god someone gave me a lollipop and a new DVD copy of Barney and Friends.
are u serious??
The anime sets a rediculously kiddy aura around the games. when they are as you know, quite deep RPG experiances.
ignore them and enjoy!
People who are more concerned with what you are doing with your free time are obviously understimulated and bored. I say pitty them and play on :)!

Does this actually happen to a lot of people? Whenever I flip out my DS and play pkmn, everyone around is pretty much trying to grab the DS from me exclaiming "OMG, pokemon, pass it here!". If anyone does make a snotty remark, I'll just joke around with 'em; it's pretty easy to make a good comeback when someone calls you a little kid or says its gay If people are actually serious with those remarks than they're just ignorant fools; don't mind them.
