Here's my view.

You guys don't understand the implications of what the wii fit board means for nintendo gaming.

On IGN they said Miyamoto said Nintendo would possibly consider making a snowboard game for wii fit. Tony Hawk anyone? How about taking strafing and ducking in a new direction for FPS? Time Crisis baby. Probably could program it to know you are jumping for real when it measures no wieght on the board. New ways to platform possibly. Could probably manual on tony halk but this time your balance is really measured so then things become a little harder because you actually have to be a decent skater?

I dunno, think about everything we take for granted that isn't in a video game. Surfing games could be sweet cause the board actually measures you on your belly, then your knees, then standing up. All without not worrying about getting gnarly gashes from the ocean floor when you biff it hard. Just like the wii-mote......it will take awhile to see good 1:1. But when we do on wii mote and the board, the only thing we need is a helmet with the ir sensor attached and FPS becomes almost virtual reality

I think the wii fit truely proves that nintendo thinks we are becoming a world of mindless chimps. I mean, pushups aren't what i would call a game, and yet nintendo thinks that if the wii tells us to do pushups, we'll do them, and we'll do them good. Hell, we'll make a family night out of it and compare who can do more than eachother, and have a graph too. Nothings gives you more bragging rights over your siblings than a graph that proves you progressivly kick their ass each week in exersises that are just wasting time and keeping us from going outdoors.

All you guys care about is Mario and Zelda. You could care less that the wii fit board isn't just for excersize, its a new interface altogether. But I suppose those who replied were also the chimps that were angry when nintendo revealed the controller at E3. You watch when you are playin SSX on your Wii Fit board. Then come back and complain how retarded it is.

They won't break. Come on, it's nintendo. You can drop a gamecube four stories and it will still turn on.

A "Cash Cow" is an EXISTING product that is ESTABLISHED in a market and needs little funding to continue its already profitable existance. The WiiFit board is NONE of these things. Trust me, I'm a business major...

The wiimote is blowing down doors in R&D. I realizethe balance boardisn't a core component to current gameplay, but imagine that the sales are astronomical. The installation rate is 80% of the Wii's total installation rate. It could be that mothers or sisters or whoever are buying it up as fast as they can. Developers will take into account and make it an optional playing scheme (a growing standard in the industry) which makes full use and brings about a deeper, more immersive experience.

I think that after working with the wiimote and seeing the crazy things that can be done with it, developers will be stoked to get this new product and see what sort of things they can do with it. I think it's going to further drive Wii sales, fund even more great products, and move gaming further into the next generation. I can't see how anyone can go out and buy a 360 or a PS3 with all of these amazing innovations coming from Nintendo.

Not everyone can do that. I"m not going to drive 10 miles(to park and back home) to get to the closest park to skate board with the price gas now adays and there is definetly no way I'ma going to drive from one side of Texas to the other to try and surf.If I had aplace to skateboard near I'd possibly do it, but since there isn't the park is the only place to go where I won't get a fine from the police.
