Phil Harrison thinks DS is "last Gen"... uhh, what?

Portable Video Gamer has a story on yesterday's keynote by Phil Harrison, and they make fun of sony for putting the DS under "gaming 2.0" while the PSP is an example of "gaming 3.0".  While I think it is silly of Sony to make up these lame comcepts, it is also wrong to say that the DS is last gen.  It does many things better than PSP, including internet multiplayer.

still cheaper than the psp

ds rox its better than psp even though graphix not as good go out and get a ps2 spo ull have that and a ds ps2 100 buks +ds 130 buks=230 still cheaper than a psp wow psp stinks

well payforday sorry i was rushin though u can get a ds 4 100 buks on gameseek.co.uk  ds 100 buks online browser 30 buks mp3 50 buks so that means it is only for 180 buks for the ds for all the things a psp can do and more

oo i dont care abot spelling as long as its readable

wow all you can mentin is the internet multiplayer.  PSP has that also.  Can your ds surf the web?  no.  Can it play movies? no.  Can it play MP3s? uhhhh...n ot right now.  Can it play games with  as good grafixs as the PSP? no.  see all those things the ds cant do and the PSP can do even more than that.  DS is last gen along with the wiiqueenfan66

O rly? The only original game I heard was coming out was Crush. The rest is ports like Call of duty, Burnout, and Full Auto 2. :P

Also the movie game 300. :lol:

The NDS can surf the web with the browser pack... It can play media, just not legally. Can it play games with good "grafix?" Yes, ASH, FFXII: RW, and FFIII proves that it can. Does it match the PSP in "grafix?" Well no, it's technically impossible. But does the PSP match the NDS in loading time? No... not really...

And theres NO WAY that ANY reviewer could show a biased against Nintendo. GameSpot is never biased against Nintendo, ignoring the fact that LoZ: TP, FFVI, and more were scored 8.9, just .1 point off from Editors Choice. But thats just all coincidence. Or Pokemon Emerald getting a 7.5. No way they could have been biased though.

All those things are accesories. The way they should be. Graphics =/= Gameplay, Innovation, Fun.

Neither are last gen. But the PSP isnt that great of a system. When we buy a console, we want something for Gaming. We want something small that fits in out pockets, and something that protects the console. Sonys failing right now because there all about Multimedia, not games. We want to use the internet, we'll use a computer. We wanna watch a movie? A DVD player. Music. An iPod. With the exception of Music, you dont need any of those on the road. If you do, then by all means, but one.

As for the PSP having better online, why do you say that? The DS has better controls, a built in microphone, fun online games. The PSP is... meh...

...yes DS is last gen compared to what the PSP can do. But the DS is still a top of the line handheld...DiabeticDood

People think what they wanna think, and sure, technically it isn't as outstanding as something like a PSP, but the DS has the games and the new ways to play a game. So IMO, it looks last-gen, but it plays like a true next-gen console.marioraider

I think that according to Harrison's criteria for "gaming 3.0" the DS is a great example.  It allows for user interactions and customizability through the touch-screen, and it is fully wireless allowing for multiplayer in games like Animal crossing. 

The PSP may be more powerful, but I thought it was funny that phil kind of mised the point of his presentation and didn't take the DS seriously.  since, it is kicking his ass in sales.
