Platinum Games allegedly making violent game for wii (rumor)

A Wii game called MadWorld. ...it's, "Black and white Sin City graphics, with red blood. Ultra ultra violent. Fatality moves like shoving a post through someone's head. Chainsaw on your right arm.

What the hell...people are excited? Dude this thread just started and one person has posted saying "cool". I'd rather be excited over this than some of the crap coming out for Wii.

Sega doesn't make the greatest games anymore though. I'm interested though, count me in. Black and White Sin City style = win.

For everyone who thinks this is a Sega game, it isn't. Platinum games~Clover This is who they are now, nothing we say will change this.

Now for everyone else....am I the only one catching the similarities of this and Matt's original dark game? Black and white world...colors only on important aspects. Solidarity leading to insane action? If not, Sin City is not a bad movie to be influenced by. We've been asking for years for a true Sin City experience. Who would have ever guessed it would be on Wii?

Ok so according to a few sources on GAF, including one of the mods, this has been confirmed real. With the game being made by Shigenori Nishikawa who was one of the game designers of RE4. Also the event this was accidently leaked from is embargod till friday but there is a chance Famitsu will have info on this or one of the other two games Platinum is making, one of them being for DS and the other is unkown at the moment.

For a second I thought it was just a fake rumor but to hear it is more than likely real brings joy to my heart. would love to see a trailer or some artwork of the game and more info soon.

This is great news! I was just thinking about how interesting it would be to have a all Black&White game/ cartoon with bits of color like Sin City's movie. Very freash style idea. . . sounds promising.

Too bad the guys who leaked didn't get the chance to say what plateform that gun feet woman game goes too before they noticed that they were not suposed to talk. . . hoping for Wii yet again.

Its more that Platinum game=great game rather than violant game=great game, its just that violant or mature games are something in short supply on the Wii so it makes for an eye catcher, plus from the description of the game its going to be over the top violance and crazy-ness.

Theres a lot of good games coming down the pipeline for Wii but they just dont release info on them often so you have to do a little work to always get the bits of info about them that do come out every now and again.

I mean, just look at them. . . they have relayable histories in game making at Capcom so I expect a good show.

Thank you for answering, I was wondering because GTA is selling like hot cakes and is getting attention like never before and thought that a similar formula for the Wii would automatically mean big bucks/great game. But if a reliable developer is behind this, count me in. again...thanx for the replies.

I always wonder why Nintendo doesn't create or buy a company that would specifically create games with more "mature" (whatever that means) content for Nintendo systems. Basicaly a third-party developer, acting as a second party developer, but actually owned by the first party--Nintendo. That way Nintendo has a way of developing alternative software without tarnishing the Nintendo image.
