So one day I am bored out of my mind playing COD 4, so I decide to attempt getting a wifi connection for my DS, turns out I had multiple connections to select from, so I choose the only GREEN Lock connection with the name, "gary". Since then My connection when online is good enough to allow me to trade other players, only thing is that I always have a 1 bar, yellow wifi connection level, and rarely a 2 bar, green wifi connection level which requires an odd poistioning of the DS, hold it up in mid air. At times though, I can't even find the connection and it maybe only 30 mins, to a hour since I last used it. Does anyone know what is going on with this connection, at one second it is appearing, another it is gone. Please help, Note that this connection is coming from outside my house, which is why it is always yellow.

Well unless 'gary' is the name of your wireless connection point, you're stealing somebody elses wireless. In which case the signal from that connection point is probably too far away, and that would explain why your signal strength is poor.

I wouldn't buy the USB wifi. Also, isn't that thing now not being produced anymore? Anyways, it would be better to buy a good router, as the USB thing is somewhat weak.

Wow. I just typed a whole page of useful things and tips that just got deleted as I hit the backspace button and it took my to the previous page... Anyways, a super sum of what I said was really just to get your own router. It's totally worth it (as it adds a lot of value to all of your enhanced games) and it will stop you from "BOrrowing" your neighbors connection.

The router I use has a higher leveled security level that is pretty much impossible to hack, break ,etc.

That happened to me yesterday! I was writing out this unhealthy sized post, and all I wanted to do was delete that last character I typed up and I was taken to the previous page instead. What a load of monkey nuts.

Anyways, it's ok to borrow from 'Gary'. That name always fascinates me. Just like Harry, Barry and Larry. Names i'll avoid calling my kids!

Are you saying you can't use it for wifi? You could change the settings.

Ha. Gary is the player name I use for DS Wifi. So whenever you see a horrible player with "Gary" over his character, think "korino55".

yupNajohn

Comeon I use WPA2 with AES only my router too, which the DS has no wa of connecting, but whenever I wanna play DS wifi, I'll downgrade it to WEP temporarily.

It's a trade off..just don't leave any computers connected to the network while it's in WEP mode and I doubt anything bad would happen even if some guy manages to break in..
