i was just wondering which one of these to get, first of all ive played pokemon games before and the first and only game i have for my gameboy color is pokemon silver, and i know that they are essentially the same game except with a slight list of different pokemon i can catch and so basically what iam asking is that which game has the coller looking pokemon, ive have not been keeping up with pokemon for nearly 6 years now, and i just want another RPG for my DS and i have very good memories for the pokemon series, like the good old days with the fire breathing dragons and the hyperbeam shooting lugia and the awsome psychic usein mew two, and so yeah i just wanna try to get back into the pokemon world and perhaps collect some more awsome pokemons, and i mostly want the cool looking ones, especially the legendary pokemon associated with each version, which one has the better one? thanks for the help sorry i rambled on for abit.
Because of the new WiFi feature avaliable the only question that needs to be answered is which of the legendary pokemon you think looks cooler: Dialga or Palkia? WiFi will allow you to get all of the other version exclusives that you want. And if you are lucky you could even get the other legendary from someone else. Dialga is a Steel/Dragon type and Palkia is a Water/Dragon type so you can choose the version you would like depending on which sounds cooler to you. For the story, it really doent matter which one you pick, both will be strong against the elite 4 if you want to use them. For player battling Im not sure which is better to have because I dont battle against other people over Wifi.

thanks guys im gonna give diamond a shot then, oh btw is there any way i can get my gameboy colors pokemon on to the DS? because i collected like 241 pokemon on my gameboy, and i have some of th rare ones so if some can help me out that would be great.
They both have the same amount of pokemon, some differ. I got pearl, just because it looked better then daimond. You can just trade through Wifi for the ones you don't own, so either one will work.

Palkia is the better choice over Dialga.
Palkia is Dragon / Water meaning it has only the weakness to Lightning. And boasts a resistance to fire. Dialga is Dragon / Steel meaning it is weak to fire and Lightning, although boasts a resistance to rock.
Palkia's stats are slightly higher In the Attacks than Dialga making for an easy EV Powehouse, where as Dialga is more defensive.
