Pokemon Gold And Silver ARE Being Remade! Heart Gold and Soul Silver

The TV program Pokemon Sunday says that on May 10th they'll have a special announcement

Now take a look at where they said it

Underneath two metallic balls, one gold one silver

I think it will happen, as many of you know I'm not a fan of remakes but in this case I think it's either too much of a coincidence or it's just to screw with people.

I guess we just update this for a week until next weekend lol

Im sure they will have something to do with 2nd gen. at least. It better be gold and silver remakes, becuase those are the pokemon games that were made, and i want to play them again. And with it being remade with features from the DS and DSi (Maybe) it will be extremely awesome.

If it is DSi exclusive i would indeed buy one just for that game....seriously they better not be jerking us around.

i would hope they would add these remakes, or ports, to a DSiware cla ss ic game service.

but i suppose we have to milk the remakes at retail for $34.99, don't get me wrong its cool, i might try them i'm loving platnium but i don't see why i should care about a pokemon remake from GBC or something when from what i understand Diamond/Leafgreen/Platnium pretty much give me the jist of what a pokemon game plays like. i hear it has a really good region so i'd check it out

i'd be much happier if these guys annoucned something not at all related to pokemon lol like a M&L3 american release date (of course that wouldn't happen its a japanese TV show about pokemon. wouldn't the faces of fans be priceless though? hey guys we're in silver suits with gold dyed hair and we just wanted to tell you that Iwata has told us Mario And Luigi 3 will come out on this release date in North America, so all our NA viewers be happy and pre order!" that'd be funnny)

i'd kinda rather they annouce a virtual handheld, not that i need one terribly, but announce it for DSiware with these two being the leading two launch ports/remakes

I remember that Pokemon Gold was a great game when I played it back in the day. Like you, remakes are not my favorite thing but they were good games so I would not be real angry. Nintendo has started doing remakes lately with the "New Play Control Games" so I would not be surprised if they extended to the DS. TheColbert

It's funny, my friend and I were talking about Gold and Silver just a few days ago and all the stuff they added to it and how it's cool how certain things changed (johto changed a lot and the new elite four was funny too).

I love to go back sometimes, but I do not know if I could go back and play a Gameboy color game.

Why pay all the extra money to unnecessarily revive a game when you can re-release it as DSi Ware for atlittle to no cost and charge$10 for it? Much more ofa profit that way. And if they for whatever reason wanted to add Wifi, they'd have access to all security encriptions.

Most of my argument against these games is that the Pokemon been placed in the various other Pokemon games so everyone can have a complete Pokedex

It wouldn't be that hard to make Silver and Gold in the current style and it would sell. The Pokemon series is stronger then it's ever been so maybe they want to capitalize on that right now.

I understand your viewpoint as well, I just don't see that happening when right now they have a better engine for the game ready to go (and probably the last time we'll see this engine because they'll move to a new one next game)

Well I DID just order Pokemon Colosseum last week for it's exclusive Pokemon :P

Although, IMO I believe that they should remake the game after gen 5 is released as a way to get the older Pokemon, similar to how the Gba games are used to get the older pokemon now, except this would be pointless if gen 5 had a pal park sort of thing that connected with D/P/Pt.

I doubt that will happen, sales would be too low for a Pokemon game... DS owners would be pissed... And the DS outnumbers the DSi like 30 to 1.

I told myself I'm not going to buy the next (mini-update) Pokemon... Damn you Nintendo! Why do I feel excited? I'm being pulled in again...

Yes. That's what I said. The problem being that the game is just wanted, not needed. I'm not saying the game can't be remade as regular DS game, just that it would make more sense to remake it as DSi Ware since it would be cheaperand create more DSi users.

I'd probably buy it. The evidence is very convincing.

I meant that FR and LG were made because the Pokedex couldn't be completed without them. There no necessity in remaking G/S andit's cheaper tosell games over the DSiShop,so why spend more money than necessary? They don't have to make a new box, they don't have to make a manual, they don't have to put it on a game card, they don't have to do anything butremake it andupload it to the shop.

They could have just made those Pokemon available in Ruby and Sapphire if they really wanted to, it would've been easier than making two new games. Seriously, most people don't care about filling up their Pokedex anymore. There is no reason why Silver and Gold cannot get the same treatment.

Notice the two blurred out images on the easel which just happen to be coloured gold and silver in the shape of a game box? If that's not hinting towards remakes then I dunno what is. Can't wait, but part of me is ready to be disappointed.

To those suggesting a DSi exclusive of some sort, I really don't see it happening at all. If it's the GBC games coming to a DSi virtual console, why would Nintendo reveal the new service through a Japanese TV show especially when E3 is only a month away? Nintendo also hasn't released any of their main franchises through WiiWare and that's a year old now, it's likely they'll do the same for DSiWare for the same reason - to support smaller third parties.

Thats great news hope Nintendo does not let us down. It should not be DSIware that would suck sooo much.
