Now THIS is an answer I like :) What you said is true and like I said before, Pokemon has changed but only for the hardcore Pokemon players. For the casual players, it will seem as though the formula was copy pasted onto a new region with new faces. I used to be a hardcore Pokemon fan believe me, I poured LOADS of time in Red and Yellow and lots more into Gold and Silver :P But R/S/E just didn't strike me like the old Pokemon games did although I finished it anyway. D/P got me hooked again but after beating the Elite 4, I was left wondering "Hmm, I feel like I've done this before". I don't know if anyone gets me  but that's the problem I have with Pokemon now, it feels all same-y. Like what someone in this thread said, HeartGold and SoulSilver is only for the fans because there has been demand for it (Even I wanted it). But I'm worried about the future of Pokemon and how Nintendo and GameFreak will be able to keep Pokemon going on. It just doesn't seem like it will last.[QUOTE="yoshi_64"]Unless you are hardcore into battling, the differences are minute and will not really be something you expect. However, through the years, the game's battle system has evolved a lot, and more so in the behind the numbers aspect. Moves are now split into phsyical and special attacks instead of being "special" and "physical" based on the attack type. EV training, Stats and how you work those two are different. Double battling was introduced in Ruby/Sapphire. Evolution of pokemon changed from just evolving via stones, new pokemon types to balance the game. Believe me, there's lots of changes that went througout the games, but you wouldn't know these if you only played casually. Kenny789
It's not Nintendo's fault you're a casual Pokemon player and don't care about the new changes. The fact is that the series HAS changed, just because they don't appeal to you doesn't mean the series has gone downhill.
Pokemon is the most popular it's been since the Gameboy days, I cannot see how you can be worried about the future of Pokemon :? once again just because the new features don't appeal to you means the series won't last?
