They've been out in Japan for almost a month.

I'd say Cyndaquil. It's my favorite.

But here's how I spilt it. Your starter choice makes you're Pokemon journey more or less difficult sometimes.

Chikorita - Hard

Totadile - Medium

Cyndaquil - Easy

It really depends on the rest of your team...

I pick purely on looks tbh.

All the startes look good. I prefer Chikorita, she gives of a cheeky vibe.

However she turns into 2 crappy looking P'sOS so that's a no.

Totadile looks like hes on crack, which is a plus .... But feraligatyr looks silly.

Cyndaquil looks ok, a bit of a little girl though, but his evolutions look better then the other 2 so he wins.

Cyndaquil is the best starter for the game because it can take on the first 2 gym leaders easily

My starter would probably be Cyndaquil and from the other list,i would go with Ampharos.

My favourite starter is cyndaquil too :) It is the only fire type starter that I like :(

typhlosion is statisticcally better than feraligatr and meganium, because he has a high sp.attack and high speed and has less HP, so its ability blaze kicks in quicker. so get cyndaquil;)

Probably Cynaquil as it's just awesome. (Butalso as it'smuch harder to find fire pokemon than Water and Grass

Btw, for the elite 4 i would go for either Gyrados or Heracross, they are both quite strong and they both also have very good defence

I'd go with Chikorita, but only because it's the one I chose in the original games. Nostalgia for the win!

well, water pokemon are easy to come by, grass as well, bt good fire pokemon are few and far in between..... plus cyndaquil is really good! one of my favorite starters

I just found out that pokemon heartgold and soulsilver comes out on June 30, 2010. Check my homepage and look at my blog and it will say it.

Back in the day when i had a Gameboy i always went for the fire pokémon, so i would say go for Cyndaquil.

They have been out since mid-September, dawg.

Wow, this brings me back... i always had a habit of getting the type of pokemon with the cartridge that matched their color, ie: Fire on red, gold and firered, water on silver and blue. Grass managed to get in on leafgreen and on crystal(for no other reason that i hadn't had chikorita before).

If i get heartgold, it would be cyndaquil to match suit.
