I would really like to see a pokemon game on Wii thats not a battle arena. Does anyone think there will be an actual pokemon game on Wii or will it be forever handhelds?

Ever since Pokemon Red/Blue, I thought it would have been amazing to see a 3-D Pokemon game that was just like the gameboy versions, where you run around to cities and capture wild pokemon and such. At that time, it was the N64 that was out and I thought the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time engine used would have been a good one for it. I would love to see a free-roam Pokemon where you can go to the cities, still have to solve puzzles and get HMs and such, but in 3-D, instead of battle arena ones. An even better version would be one that has every single Pokemon (special ones included) capturable, but also incorporate a lot of what Platinum did, plus add every city/area (ie Johto, Kanto, etc) ever. It would be like the ultimate collection and would be a blast and people could spend countless hours playing. You could call it something like "Pokemon Ultra" or "Pokemon Ultimate". Just an idea I've thrown around quite a lot.

1.Gamefreak already said no
2.Buy a gamecube or a N64 if you want a console Pokemon game.
I wanted a console Pokemon RPG for awhile, but I'm satisfied since they released games on the DS, which is kind of the handheld equivalent of an N64.
I think it helps retain a kind of cute quality when its played in 2D.

Yep, exactly. I think that would be an amazing game and would sell very well, even to people who love games with free-roam, such as the Elder Scrolls series and Fallout.

Exactly, I think they should change the view to more of a Diablo style and give u free camera control. Also more dynamic pokemon battles would be welcome. still turn based but with more action.

I don't think the Diablo view would be the best one, as I was shooting more of an Ocarina of Time/Mario 64 camera style, where you still have complete control over the camera, but the camera moves a bit behind you or you can go into first person mode and etc. This way you get to see more of a direct view of the paths/cities/caves/forests/etc and feel a bit more like you're there with the main character. More dynamic pokemon battles, though, would definitely be a plus, but they do have to keep it turn based.
