Well,I live in Israel,so far I've never seen anyone with a DS.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in my city, but if not than there isn't more than 10 DS players.
That's quite depressing.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I am from Singapore and its a PSP dominated city.
In fact, the only DS users I have met are those whom I have arranged to meet beforehand online and a few of my friends who have been influenced by me to get one. I have not seen a single DS user in the schools I have attended, on the subway or in the buses yet.
i would say that psp is more "popular" but having bot consoles the ds kics psp's A** no contest
DS FTW!!!!:D

tol pinoy ka pala. may EBA pa ba jan? nasa UAE kasi ako ngaun magbabakasyon ako sa july. Magkano isang game dian? pag mas mura dian nalang ako bibili.
I only know 5 ppl who play their ds here in the UAE. all of them are psp fanboys.
What I find interesting is how Nintendo is taking over UK (and Europe for the matter), while looking back in the Gamecube days it was really deemed as insignificant. The DS initially did well over here, had a bit of a rough patch, but as soon as the big guns were released in 2006 (Animal Crossing, New Mario Bros and definitely Brain Training) everything just boomed!
So now, basically everyone I know has a DS Lite. If you look at the UK charts now, the top 40 is pretty much Nintendo oriented, which just shows how successful their marketing is at the moment.

And I thought that new sealand was the onyl place where PSP was bigger then the DS (it was on the news the other day). In my country (holland) the DS isn't big but the PSP is even smaller. Public gaming isn't done often (except in trains) and there aren't any wifi areas either.
yeah so i live in the Philippines a 3rd world country so...
Funny i am the ONLY ONE that i know that has a DS in my entire school(UST)
Feels like I'm carrying a bomb or something and everyone seems to look at me and say in their mind "look at that guy and what is that thing he is carrying?"
but hey one of my friends bought one and he will get it in July and that would be the first time i will experience local wireless gaming
This to those people at my school that has a psp and doesn't even know anything about the Nintendo DS
"I play games and not just by watching pretty graphics unless its DOA"
Just this morning some guy playing with his psp saw me while playing my Nintendo DS, a few minutes later a friend of the guy with psp saw me and asked his friend what i was playing.
he answered its "its a sega handheld something..."
Sadly Philippines is a horrible place for gamers and so i decided that i will not die here in my country.

lol. I'm a filipino yeah life there kinda suck. still i love my country but most ppl there follow the western trend, what would be popular in the US would become popular them too.
like:
Preppy filipina ( aka Kikay gurl): gosh sis! where did u buy that bag?
Preppy filipina 2: oh this? i got it from my daddy in America, it's IMPORTED!
Preppy filipina: Oh gosh! ur so rich naman ( OMG taglish! tagalog + english)
Preppy Filipina 2: Oh yeah, and next week mom will buy a new cellphone!
and so, posers were born.....
Philippine nightmare part 2.....
Filipino from other country - playing ds
local filipino : 'tol ano yan? ( dude what's that thing)
Filipino from other country - a ds ito ( this is a ds)
local: ang pangit naman, mas maganda psp ( it's so ugly, PSPs are way cooler - yeah yet they can't even afford ps1 or gameboy color)
Filipino from other country - WTF?!
even though some filipinos do s**k, they're so great at DOTA
But still i hate them
so i decided to buy a ds lite, a black one, and beat the crap out of them when i go there in july for vacation
well we cant do anything at all to increase the ds popularity in the philippines since we have a stupid law
advertising games in the philippines is not allowed
i cant really say that i only follow what is popular, my mind was already set and ready for the Nintendo ds even before it was released.
