500ish MB is certainly enough for just about any Wii game to be demoed, but the thing is that is a near max requirement for one demo. I guess it isn't a bad idea in and off itself (a great idea actually) but it would mean the average Wii user would only have space for 1-2 demos at a time (if even that), still, 1-2 demos is better than none at all, surely?Articuno76
Nut if you have a lot of VC games and saves it means you can't download it or you have to delete some VC games and that's a hassle for just 1 demo, Hardrive is coming.

This company says Nintendo is using their software and hardware for use in a memory storage device and I don't think they'd just lie. It's happening.
maybe it would work something like the ds download stations, you download it, but it doesn't actually save anything, so when you turn it off, you would have to re download it. They would have to be short demos though, but it solves the memory problem.DrummerDude1010thats what i thought. with the wiiware casual game section (something like xbox live arcade)coming, its more than possible it happens. freedemo downloads sounds great to me

I thought those downloadble demos were saved onto the DS's very small amount of memory until you turn it off. If so, your idea would not work since we would still need more memory.

oh dang, i think your right. But it still wouldnt use as much memory as saving the whole game (at least i think so). But nintendo just needs to let you be able to save and withdraw stuff from an SD card. That would solve all our problems!

I like your idea the best.
Even if Nintendo came around to making a harddrive, how much would it cost? And how many Gigs do you think it'd have on it? ravemast117
Doesn't matter how much it will cost, people will still buy it.
Heck, Nintendo could release a 5 gig hard drive at a high price and the fanboys will still buy it.
This is certainly possible. The Wii gets its data from the internet, not from a hard drive. That's why you still need to have the internet even if you've already downloaded the application.
Though it would be possible to pull demo's off of the internet, it's not really probable. It would require RIDICULOUS amounts of bandwidth, because thousands of people would be playing Wii games simultaneously off the net.
