alot of people are stupid, not saying everyone is. But people really shouldn't want a remake. Especially a remake of a pokemon game, of all things.

Yeah that would be crazy, who'd want to make a remake of one of the greatest gaming franchises ever created?
Heck, if that happened next thing you know Square would start remaking Final Fantasy games.

I know man, what if Square Enix is remaking FF IV right now? ::Sigh:: Crazy people...[QUOTE="diped"]alot of people are stupid, not saying everyone is. But people really shouldn't want a remake. Especially a remake of a pokemon game, of all things.

Yeh in full 3D, now that would be crazy, it's almost as crazy as saying "no one should want remakes"
All they'd need to do would make it so you couldn't import Pokemon to the remake.
The same way you couldn't import Ruby and Sapphire to Firered and Leaf Green
Jaysonguy
Actually, you could trade from Ruby/Sapphire to Firered/Leaf Green if you got the national Pokedex

wouldn't be as crazy as Square remaking Chrono Trigger DS... they would be absolute lunatics if they did that...

Well, many people want remakes of Gold and Silver because the original cartridges contain CR2032 lithium-ion batteries that eventually die (usually after 6 or 7 years). Once these batteries die, the game is unable to hold saved data. So, the only option is the replace the battery. However, the battery would be difficult to replace, as it requires the cartridge owner to unscrew the cartridge, de-solder the dead batter, re-solder the new battery, and finally re-screw the cartridge closed. There is a lot of room for error, and frankly, this process is a big pain to perform. So, overall, remakes would end the need to replace the dead batteries.

Or you drop it, and they battery falls out. You can only see the battery helplessly jiggling around inside the cartridge.

The problem with the Pokemon series is they should be progressive.
This isn't Final Fantasy, it's a instead a franchise that hasn't changed much and where each iteration hasn't been very different in tone due to setting and story...because of that a remake does just seem bizzarre really.
As someone said, Pokemon is more or less the same game remaking itself each generation rather than being totally different like the Final Fantasy series which clearly seem to be set even in different universes from one another.
A remake doesn't work for me either. I know they remade Red and Blue but I thought Pokemon was a game about discovering NEW creatures not re-catching ones from days past. The problem with the Pokemon series is they should be progressive.

Actually, they remade Fire and Green :P
Well, I agree with the guy that said Pokémon Yellow. It would be really cool...
Screw that. The need to remake Yellow.Lyphe2k
I was about to say! Yellow seemed to be the most interesting of all the Pokemon incarnations, IMHO!
I don't mean to interupt this topic, but what made G/S so good? I own both games and I thought it was wonderful, but the D/P version has surpassed G/S in my opinion. Only in graphics/use of pokemon's abilities.Proke
Pokegear = best pokemon gadget ever
G/S also had a couple of time based events which is kinda cool IMHO
I know some people here want a Pokemon Gold/Silver remake, but if that was made, wouldn't it make complications, such as how since the G/S would be a DS game, it wouldn't allow for pokemon to be moved from D/P to G/S. R/S/E would work OK for transferring pokemon to G/S, but for D/P people would need another DS to exchange those pokemon. Amirite?hydralisk86
This happens in EVERY generation of Pokemon.
HELLO! they are making pokemon platium right now.... why would they remake gold/silver, its not worth the wait.
