I know some people here want a Pokemon Gold/Silver remake, but if that was made, wouldn't it make complications, such as how since the G/S would be a DS game, it wouldn't allow for pokemon to be moved from D/P to G/S. R/S/E would work OK for transferring pokemon to G/S, but for D/P people would need another DS to exchange those pokemon. Amirite?

All they'd need to do would make it so you couldn't import Pokemon to the remake.

The same way you couldn't import Ruby and Sapphire to Firered and Leaf Green

alot of people are stupid, not saying everyone is. But people really shouldn't want a remake. Especially a remake of a pokemon game, of all things.

But there could be a GTS, and maybe where you could save pokemon to the DS, and import them into it

Yeah that would be crazy, who'd want to make a remake of one of the greatest gaming franchises ever created?

Heck, if that happened next thing you know Square would start remaking Final Fantasy games.

Yeh in full 3D, now that would be crazy, it's almost as crazy as saying "no one should want remakes"

Actually, you could trade from Ruby/Sapphire to Firered/Leaf Green if you got the national Pokedex

all they need to do is what they did for firered and leafgreen you could import pokemon that were native to that region so if you had a pikachu on ruby and wanted it on leafgreen you could trade it and vice versa

Yeah but you don't need to trade Pokemon to a game in order to have fun with it.

No, I really don't think that making a gold/silver remake for the DS would be all that great. I wouldn't but it, I could just take out the one i have at home and play with it.

Well, many people want remakes of Gold and Silver because the original cartridges contain CR2032 lithium-ion batteries that eventually die (usually after 6 or 7 years). Once these batteries die, the game is unable to hold saved data. So, the only option is the replace the battery. However, the battery would be difficult to replace, as it requires the cartridge owner to unscrew the cartridge, de-solder the dead batter, re-solder the new battery, and finally re-screw the cartridge closed. There is a lot of room for error, and frankly, this process is a big pain to perform. So, overall, remakes would end the need to replace the dead batteries.

Or you drop it, and they battery falls out. You can only see the battery helplessly jiggling around inside the cartridge.

The problem with the Pokemon series is they should be progressive.

This isn't Final Fantasy, it's a instead a franchise that hasn't changed much and where each iteration hasn't been very different in tone due to setting and story...because of that a remake does just seem bizzarre really.

As someone said, Pokemon is more or less the same game remaking itself each generation rather than being totally different like the Final Fantasy series which clearly seem to be set even in different universes from one another.

A remake doesn't work for me either. I know they remade Red and Blue but I thought Pokemon was a game about discovering NEW creatures not re-catching ones from days past.

I don't mean to interupt this topic, but what made G/S so good? I own both games and I thought it was wonderful, but the D/P version has surpassed G/S in my opinion. Only in graphics/use of pokemon's abilities.

1. It won't happen.

2. I have 5 DSes (well, I have 2, but my sister has 1, my other sister has another, and my mom has one), so it wouldn't be a problem for me.
