it's the 25th anniversary around now. maybe they wanna give link more spotlight for a while.

please please no more remakes. brand new handheld metroid series? hope so.

other m was not one of my favorite metroids for sure. just felt odd.

here's hoping for metroid poster set in the nintendo club reward zone

Not that I don't want it to be, Metroid is my favorite series, but I'm really not expecting to hear anything about it for a while after what happened with Other M...

The only way this would be exciting is if they fired the jackass that ruined Samus. I could definitely get behind another Prime though, as long as it's nothing like MP3

All I know is that I want Metroid Dread already. I mean jeez, Metroid Fusion came out almost 9 years ago! And I thought the wait between Super Metroid and Fusion was a long one...

aye this is my thinking also....more monster hunter mind since pokemon black and white are still fairly new. metroid isnt very big in japan and this is an event set in japan i think and very close to TGS. so whatever the big news is i think its going to be about a big announcement for japan rather than here. a big exclsuive like. 1) monster hunter only on 3DS 2) a brand new mainline FF only for 3DS. i.e. FF 15. 3) either moving DQX over to 3DS (which i think is very possible at this point) or announcing a brand new DQ only for it. or itll be a new colour of the 3DS :P. i think we are for more likely to see some sort of metroid announcement at E3 next year (probably for the 3DS also...i dont think they will use metroid as any sort of wiiu launch title).

I dont think so, if anything it is related to that system that Nintendo was setting up for paid DLC.

I think he's referring to whoever was in charge of Other M over at Team Ninja.

No one from Team Ninja was in charge of Other M. Sakamoto was the producer and scenario designer while three designers from the GBA games were put in charge of the main game design, Team Ninja just programmed it. The story elements were brought on because Sakamoto decided that this would be a story focused game.

And what's wrong with story. I mean heard/read I've people complain about games that don't have enough or any story. And from what Metroid games I've seen a little more story would be nice. There is a lot of unanswered questions, some of which may have been answered in Metroid M. Like, why did see become a bounty hunter instead of just join the federation, as a hunter why have the compassion that she has shown in some games, why does she not like partners, and after Fusion will she decide to go after the Federation itself (I myself hope for this) and I am sure their are a lot more tidbits.

The story and script of Other M was the main source of complaint and hate by the fans. The inclusion of other characters dampens the isolated feel of the games which is something fans want and expect. Personally though, I'm more than happy to see a developer take risks with a series and if they were to continue to explore this story driven action oriented Metroid then I would support it.
