if you dont notice any shimmering or flickering at all then ur better off without itJOhkonut
With most cube games you have to hold down the A button when the game boots up to get it to display in progressive scan. I recommend doing this at the start of every cube game you play as a few games have progressive scan but fail to indicate it anywhere, like Eternal Darkness.Cz-100i dont think so. when i play Burnout on the Wii it always asks me if I want to play in Progressive scan before anything happens. even if i say no i can go to the options and put it in progressive scan
Very few GC games are progressive scan

That is not true. I would say a majority (however small) of GameCube games support 480p. Check HDTV Arcade.

Yeah about 3/4 of gamecube games ran in progressive scan. You do have to hold down the b button on most GC games while its booting up to get the progessive scan prompt. If your wii is in progressive scan and you load a gc game the screen will flicker indicating that the system has turned off progressive scan, then when you hold the B button and the prompt comes up and you hit yes it'll flicker again indicating that progressive scan has turned back on. Of course if your lucky your TV will tell you what resolution is being displayed, progressive scan would be 480P.
It'll ask you if you want to play in progressive scan mode before the game starts.

Curiously enough, almost all my GC games run in PS, although I think none of them support widescreen.
Anyway, this was not related but I wanted to share ;-)

I think Brawl is the best example of progressive scan, but they call it "Deflicker" or something. I tryed playing with it off, and it bugged me.Snyder_Trigger
Deflicker is kind of forced anti-alias, is not progressive scan at all. As you mention, Brawl is a good example because you can run it in PS and if deflicker is off you'll see much more edges, but colours are brighter and image is clearer. Deflicker is really dependant on your preferences, not your TV set/cable set
