Interview with the Exec Producer on Scarface:
"WAS THERE ANY RESISTANCE FROM NINTENDO WHEN YOU TOLD THEM YOU WANTED TO BRING THIS VERY M-RATED GAME TO THE WII?
I would say that Nintendo were the most inviting company in terms of, "We really want mature content. We want ours to be a system for all ages." They don't feel the system is just for little kids. Which I agree with. I've seen more older people have fun with the Wii than you can imagine. To watch my mom play with the Wii was something I never thought I'd see. She'd never pick up a 360 or PS3 controller. But she plays "Wii Sports" with the grandkids."
He also goes on to say how there were wiimote/gameplayfeatures he'd love to incorporate for a Scarface sequel.
Plus this interview portion with Ed Boon on Mortal Kombat Armageddon:
"WAS THERE ANYTHING ABOUT THE GAME THAT NINTENDO MADE YOU TAKE OUT BECAUSE IT WAS TOO GREUSOME?
Not at all. I think Nintendo recognizes that there is room for mature rated games in their library of available titles. We had zero problems with them in terms of us including the complete version of "Armageddon."
I'm sure many of you recall Reggie's conversation with GTA's creator about GTA on Wii. Reggie wants Rockstar support, and they're completely fine with Manhunt 2 avaliable in their library- a game that makes gore look like rainbows and flowers. Is this a sign for things to come? Reggie has partly to praise for this - he stated at E3 2004: "I've worked forproducts targeted at 18's and 20-somethings. And I learnt a while ago, there's no BS-ing that audience."
