This game looks like a must buy and I barely know anything about it.

So what's the point of even basing this on Disney (other than to add the Disney name for more sales?) if you aren't going to draw from the source material for inspiration? It makes no sense. This looks like some Tim Burton remix of Disney. I just don't think this sort of imagery works for Disney, sorry. Disney is not a dark, twisted world.TheLordMagnusThat's the only point of ever using a license. Look at MK vs DC it's just MK with DC characters, Kingdom Hearts is just an RPG with Disney and FInal Fantasy characters, Madden is just a football game with the NFL license. Do you think if EA produced the same exact game as Madden but you played as Joe Doe instead of NFL players that people would line up around the block at midnight launches to get it? From a business standpoint its more lucrative to use a license because will run out and buy Epic Mickey but the same game called Epic Frank wouldn't garner nearly as much attention. But funny you mention it Burton is doing Alice in Wonderland, and given his history it will have a darker visual stytle and a darker sense of humor. And Nightmare Before Christmas which is the closest thing I can think of to this visually is now a Disney product(they didn't release it under the Disney name when it was first released)

the art for this look frickin sweet. if they make this game i will most definately buy it unless gameplay sucks. just the goofy and dumbo pics alone are enough to make me want this disney world apocolyptic game. the only thing that saddens me is that these graphics will not be as awesome on the wii as they would on the ps3 360 or pc. hopefully the wii will have hd by then since its rumored their making one with hd cords.
oh snap after looking at those pics I got uhh pixie dust all over the keyboard :P
anyway, and this is my theory, is that Walt Disney World has been taken over by the Villains and using the animatronics to do their evil bidding and rebuild their own twisted world. Mickey has been missing for many years and the other characters have been forced into hiding. One day you see Mickey wake up in the mouth of Monstro and he has to escape (aka the tutorial level). After you escape it's Mickeys job to find his friends, find his wizards hat and robe, and beat all the villains to restore Walt Disney World to it's former glory.
[QUOTE="TheLordMagnus"][QUOTE="bob_newman"]Except it looks nothing like Disney at all. What are you talking about? That doesn't matter. Good art direction is good art direction. Wow, just let it go.Now THAT, is art direction. High Voltage Software could learn a thing or two from this.

I really like this idea. I personally seeing this as more of a KH style game, not Mario. The Sorcerer's Hat would play a vital role in the game for magic based fighting. Anyone else get a serious Meet the Robinsons Future Vibe? (when the hat took over). As long as there is a fight against a mechanized Chernabog, I will be a happy gamer. With Night on Bald Mountain playing in the back of course.oh snap after looking at those pics I got uhh pixie dust all over the keyboard :P

Sure the art looks good and all (True it's not really Disney-ish but it sorta is *Looks at Pirates of the Caribbean*), but I only have one question, who is the Main character? Are these Disney creatures just cloned failures, cyborgs, etc and you have to destroy them or do you actually have to play as one of those things? I would love to destroy them with the Chip N Dale crew, Mulan crew, Aladdin crew, Tale Spin crew, Ducktales crew, Gargoyles crew, Darkwing Duck crew, Goof Troop crew, Bonkers crew and others.
Wow glad to see all the positive feedback these pics are getting. I love the style of these. Man I wish I had artistic talent, if I could draw these half as well I be so happy.
@ danger ranger. Sadly I don't even own the conduit due to my tight budget but I will come Augest 4th (my birthday)
Wow. Just, wow. That looks truly amazing. Honestly, I love my Wii, but if this ends up being a Wii exclusive that will be a little bit of a waste. I don't usually care about graphics at all, but this is one of those games where you buy it because it looks pretty and interesting. Not necessarily because it looks fun. All in all, no matter what console this comes out on, I am going to buy it. Period.
Gameplay details
- use the Wiimote to paint your way through the landscape
- draw/etch/erase levels as you progress through them
- story based on old and forgotten Disney characters that are out for revenge against Mickey
That's...interesting. I can't wait to see how it pans out.

Sounds interesting, potentially similar to Okami...
Basically confirms this'll be a Wii exclusive methinks.
- draw/etch/erase levels as you progress through them

Definitely the most intriguing bit of info- very interesting. Hopefully it'll shape out nicely.

Ah, so it has to do with OLD characters? Sounds neat. :D
That short story description comes close to what I was expecting story-wise. (I wasn't expecting old characters to be the central focus however)
Definitely looking very interesting so far. Especially with how amazing the concept art looks.

none of the Turok gameswere developed by Disney
The firstwas developed by the Iguana and published by Acclaim. None in the series has had any Disney relation either.
I wish Disney's animation still had heart like the old animators did.
Alice in Wonderland was the best, by far.
I wish they would've incorperated their trippy style into other stories

Oh wow great find, these details only raise more questions then answers in my mind. I'm glad that they are using the wiimote in an innovative way so its aexperiance truely enhanced by the wii's strengh kind of like the Ghostbusters game. Also given the second point I wonder if this means you get to create/alter some of themachines in the pics. Glad to hear that Mickey is the main character and he will be kicking ass.
Oh my god, that looks amazing. As far as I've read, it's still in development, based on this interview with someone from Disney from E3. So hopefully we get some actual screen shots, or footage:D I'm surprised that Disney approved this, it's dark and not like them at all. I would think they might tone it down, if not, parents might see this and think that this is what Mickey, or Disney, is turning into and stray from the company. I don't know if that makes sense, that's just what I've been hearing.
If this is infact a platformer that would explain why they chose to go with the Wii, yeah it would look visually better on an HD console but this is a business after all, money is more important than how a game looks. You go with the console that saw a platformer sell near 10 millon copies, as oppossed to the one that saw a popular platforming name sink like a stone at retail and the other would be an expensive risk. Though I am surprised Disney would allow such leeway with the character design, I would assume Disney would have a vice grip on developers when creating games with Disney characters. SepewrathThis link says why it was for the Wii even though it is a Platformer you will also be Painting levels like Drawing, Etching, and erasing parts or whole levels as you go through the game.

What did they do to my Disney!?!?!?! Well, I guess that it had to happen, they do everything, there's even a section that works on porn (At least, that's what I heard).
