Peripherals and motion control...both are trumped by the good, old-fashioned, no-frills, regular controller.

You know thats funny that you say that but the results speak for themselves. 80 million Wii's sold.

Conduit 2 is irrelevant, itwill sell less than 500,000 copies.

I don't think so judging by how the new cod and goldeneye are doing in sales.

Well if your gonna play a sales game with this (which I think says nothing for the argument he was making of motion vs regular) than 85 million HD consoles with REGULAR controllers sold!
So even in that view the old fashioned controller still wins! ;)

Goldeneye has sold a "whopping" 150000 copies. Black Ops will only get so high because of it's already very high reputation of being in the Call of Duty franchise. But for the Conduit it sold horribly even after going through every type of media that could be thought of- youtube, comic books, even 3 months before its release during UFC matches it was advertised on TV. It failed to sell even for the niche target audience it was going after.[QUOTE="EasyNormalHard"][QUOTE="RECON64bit"]

I hear what your saying but Conduit 2 is a new series so its just getting its audience. Its the first release not every series sells well out the gate. They listened to the gamer complaints about online, story, and gameplay (boss battles). The game is much more improved in those aspects from the videos I seen and graphics looks stunning for the Wii. It will sell a million copies for it this time around. Me personally I am more willing to sink my money into a series then one game that will never see a sequel.

Why does it say nothing to the argument when 80 million people bought Wii because of the motion controls they showed the Wii remote before the console. Regular controllers doesn't win at all and some of those sales your stating are now because of the motion controls. If regular old fashioned controllers like you mentioned are better then why are the other two consoles pushing motion controls so hard???

No, those sales are before the HD consoles got motion controls. They were always ahead sales wise with their traditional controllers.
And sales =/= to being better.
