1. A Link to the Past 2. Wind Waker 3. Majora's Mask 4. Twilight Princess 5. Ocarina of Time 6. The Minish Cap 7. Phantom Hourglass 8. Skyward Sword 9. Link's Awakening 10. Spirit Tracks 11. Four Swords Adventure - Zelda - Zelda II - Oracle of ages/Seasons It was sort of tough deciding whether to place Skyward Sword before Phantom Hourglass or not. It was also tough deciding whether or not Twilight Princess should be before Majora's Mask. The other ones fell into place pretty naturally for me. A Link Between Worlds, the upcoming 3DS game, doesn't look extremely good either, so who knows where that will go.

It's too difficult for me to do. I'd have a 3 way tie between OoT, ALTTP, and TP. I have yet to play Wind Waker though and I'm looking forward to the Wii U port of it. I also didn't get very far in Skyward Sword so I can't judge that one either.

Not gonna rank them all because that'd be impossible for me to choose between many of them. But I'd put Majora's Mask on top probably.

too lazy to rank them all but Skyward Sword definitely moved up to my number 1 and knocked Wind Waker to my number 2.

For me, personally.

2. Minish Cap

3. Twilight Princess

4. Wind Waker

5. Phantom Hourglass

I only list these 5 because they're the only ones I've successfully finished

1. Majora's Mask

2. Wind Waker

3. Link's Awakening

4. Oracle of Ages (LA and OoA are very, very close)

5. Ocarina of Time

6. Oracle of Seasons

7. Spirit Tracks

8. Twilight Princess

9. Minish Cap

10. A Link to the Past

11. Four Sword Adventures

12. Skyward Sword

13. Zelda I

14. Phantom Hourglass (The Temple of the Ocean King pretty much killed the game for me)

15. Zelda II

The only one I really dislike is Zelda II.  Other than that I've enjoyed them all to varying degrees.

Also, if you have an issue with my placing of ALttP, come at me.  This list is how I honestly feel about the games.

[QUOTE="Minishdriveby"] Hmmmm... Spirit Tracks the best???

Yeah, I guess Minish Cap is pretty close though. Ages/Seasons were pretty dull, Phantom Hourglass had that terrible dungeon. I've never played Link's Awakening.

Okami? Joke I hope.  Personally I was not a fan of Okami.

sonic_spark
It's incredibly derivative of Zelda, might as well be a part of the franchise. It does everything the best Zelda games do, it just does them better, with more style, more originality, and a better story.

Spirit Tracks had the same terrible dungeon you had to revisit multiple times, sure it streamlined the process by not making you re-do floors, but it's still bad.

No, it's not. the reason the Temple of the Ocean King is so awful is precisely because they make you repeat floors. Ad nauseam. They did away with the repetition in Spirit tracks and it worked in the game's favor.

Only ranking the 3D console games -

1. Twilight Princess (Gamecube version)

2. Ocarina of Time

3. Majora's Mask

4. Wind Waker

5. Skyward Sword

Now, i'm not going to touch upon how far each one is from another, but I will say that Twilight Princess is light years ahead of Ocarina.

Spirit Tracks didn't make you redo floors, and there was no time limit. It was several times better for that reason alone, not considering the improved level design.

1.) Ocarina of Time 2.) Twilight Princess 3.) The Minish Cap 4.) Phantom Hourglass 5.) Skyward Sword Based on how addicted I was when I played them. Not going to explain in detail why I listed them in that order but I will say that I loved them all :D I didn't include the Zelda games I didn't play / finish and yes, I know, I really should play the others.

Exactly what I said. People seem to forget that they greatly improved and removed the annoyances in Spirit Tracks... They just gloss over those facts and act like it's exactly the same. It's frustrating.

I would say the Ocean King Temple isn't a bad dungeon because the time constraints and redoing. I really had no problem quickly running through the floor that I already knew how to do. I would say it's just a bad dungeon in terms of design and the same goes for Spirit Tracks' central dungeon it's just boring and the same design wise has OKT. It should have been removed not streamlined.

You better it'd be a crime not too. :) Although I can't say too much there are a few legendary games that I never played. I didn't play Super Metroid until like 2 years ago and I've never played any of the Final Fantasy games.

[QUOTE="meetroid8"] Spirit Tracks didn't make you redo floors, and there was no time limit. It was several times better for that reason alone, not considering the improved level design. Minishdriveby

I found the level design of Spirit Tracks to be greatly improved over Phantom Hourglass in all areas. It was challenging, at least.

The repetition killed TOK for me. Tower of spirits was far more enojyable and had far better puzzle deisgn IMO.

1. Majora's Mask

2. Wind Waker

3. Link's Awakening

4. Oracle of Ages (LA and OoA are very, very close)

5. Ocarina of Time

6. Oracle of Seasons

7. Spirit Tracks

8. Twilight Princess

9. Minish Cap

10. A Link to the Past

11. Four Sword Adventures

12. Skyward Sword

13. Zelda I

14. Phantom Hourglass (The Temple of the Ocean King pretty much killed the game for me)

15. Zelda II

The only one I really dislike is Zelda II.  Other than that I've enjoyed them all to varying degrees.

Also, if you have an issue with my placing of ALttP, come at me.  This list is how I honestly feel about the games.

Good, you look like you will hate my opinion. 1. Skyward Sword 2. Twilight Princess 3. Minish Cap 4. Spirit Tracks 5. Wind Waker 6. Majora's Mask 7. Ocarina of Time 8. A Link to the Past 9. Link's Awakening 10. Zelda 2 11. Four Swords Adventures 12. Legend of Zelda (I thought the non linear was overboard) If any of you are wondering where the Oracle games, Phantom Hourglass, and the Four Swords for GBA are, I haven't played them yet. Also, if you don't like my opinion, deal with it.

Now that I have some time, I will detail my thoughts. Ocarina of Time: a solid game, closest thing to perfection, no major flaws. perhaps its weakness relative to all zelda games is being too safe and too perfect. ocarina of time excels in all aspects and fails in none. whereas most other zelda games have peerless strengths and glaring weaknesses. most other zelda games have big advantages over ocarina, but have disadvantages as well, making ocarina the most consistent. Majoras Mask: brilliant concept, but wasn't well executed. overall a very good game, especially for a 1 year development. but it just doesnt stand up to the other zelda games where nintendo had lots of time to perfect it. the first three temples were nothing special, the snowhead overworld particularly was crap, and most of the masks were practically useless in their own right. Twilight Princess: i admit it does look a bit aged, barren, oversized, and the first 10 hours dragged much more slowly than they should have (esp with tears of light) but it's one of my favorites. the temples are the best they've ever been and to me, theyre the main appeal of the zelda series. also, great plot, roster of items, and overall a long but enjoyable adventure. Skyward Sword: A huge yin yang dichotomy. Had the best controls of the series, amazing graphics, lots of fun levels, solid plot, excellent cinematics, a great cast of characters. But the overworld was bleak, the dungeons were simplistic and worst of all, repetition, 10 of the game's 40 hours were pure filler (backtracking and such) that could have been done without). good for a zelda game, but not on par with 2011's standards when you look at games like arkham city. Link's Awakening: an overall solid game with no significiant flaws. it's a great overworld, sizeable adventure, that can fit in your pocket. a monument for portable gaming. great concept and story, especially the cartesian dream concept. a perfect game for its time. Zelda I: A great nostalgic game. i like the open and non-linear approach. sure, its a bit basic and later games improved upon the formula, developing the series in the right direction. but zelda 1 is still all in all a very good game Zelda II: took the series in the wrong path, nearly endangered the series existance. made it into a cliche sidescroller with some tacked on rpg elements. brutally difficult and evil. restarting in the north palace over and over again just isn't fun, and it makes the game inaccesible. zelda at its most cliche. Phantom Hourglass: a true abomination. borrows too much from wind waker. having to keep returning to the same building over and over again. awful bland repetitive soundloop soundtrack. and last but not least, the dungeons were insultingly simplistic.
