The Wii version has extra content
The controls are worse in the Wii version but the aiming is better. It's the exact opposite way in the Gamecube version
Considering that it's only 20 bucks it's worth it to have both so you have the extra content and see the difference in control schemes

You can play with the Gamecube controller on RE4 Wii. No need to own both. I like RE4 with the Wii controllersafter I got used to it. I would forget at first to make sure I am aiming on screen when I took out the gu to shoot.the wii version is the definitive version. who would choose any of the other versions unless you dont own a wii?
Graphics of the Gamecube Version
Content of the PS2 Version
Greatly improved controls, but old conrol scheme still intact
480p, Widescreen
All at a budget price
It's the best version of one of the best games ever made, and thats that.
The Wii version, obviously for the content and lower price and beefed up controls.
However, I played the game so much on the gamecube, sometimes I miss that version.
I guess I prefer the Wii version, beacuse of new content and controls, but I had way more fun with the GC version. I played it through about 6 times, completed mercenaries mode with 5 stars with all characters on all maps and unlocked everything. I got the Wii version to see what the fuzz was about, and I haven't even finished it.
Just saying that by the time the Wii version came, I felt I was pretty much done with the game. The controls didn't make me want to finish the game and unlock stuff again.
Must say that I agree with Jayson, that the aiming for the Wii is obviously better, but the controls overall was better in the GC version. I thought going through the menus and some other stuff was pretty annoying in the Wii version.

Your statement makes no sence.

You're aware you do more then aim in the game right?

thats got to be the most asinine thing ive seen today. the controls are mapped virtually the same as the GC version, only the aiming is different. well, instead of hitting B you hit either Z or C, but its still easy as cerealI played the GC version more. The only reason I got the Wii version was because it came with my Wii when I first got it. Only new thing was the controls since I had already played the exztra content on the PS2.
The motion controls were nice but I would not have bought the Wii version for them having already played it before.
I prefered the GC version.

maybe because movement is handled with just the analog stick

If you're playing the game on the Wii then you're not using two thumbsticks

ooooh dear... you dont use the C-stick in RE4 much anyways. the C-stick control has been replaced by the D-pad control, which isnt a problem at all, i find it more comfortable. (the C-stick is just used for tilting the camera just a little bit while walking, which proves to be useless throughout about 90% of the game)agreed.Lets just conclude that the Wii version is superior to all in every aspect and move on.

That's much
The thumbstick gives you better control of the movement of the character

In case you didn't notice, the Wii also has a thumbstick, so how does this argument work?

Yes, one of them
The one that now determines your direction isn't there anymore.
You're stuck using the Wiimote to steer your character which isn't as precise as the thumbstick.
The Wiimote is great for the aiming because all you're doing is pointing at something on the screen, but for character navigation it's a second place finish.

If you are reffering to the c-stick on the GC controller, all it does is allow you to see to the left and right of Leon. It does not MOVE Leon in ANY WAY, mearly the camera. Because the Wii version is compatible with the GC controller and ****c controller, this point is pretty much moot.[QUOTE="snover2009"]

RE4 doesn't use that little C stick on the GameCube controller, you stear and move with just the one stick.
The Wii Remote is more accurate than a thumb stick.
In Scarface the camera is controled with the pinter and worked better than using the D-pad to move the camera in the Godfather
