[QUOTE="DeeDeeDee-er"] It's the same resolution, I understand, but I've heard of people having problems where they have a component cable with the Wii set on 480i and it screws everything up.

well it sure does screw up things trying to run it one way when it's supposed to run another way.

Its just the textures look very low res.... maybe I am just not use to it since this is only my 2nd wii game. I am already getting use to the graphics and having fun since the gameplay is fun. Even with World of warcraft I was playing at a much higher resolution so yea its prob just I am not use to playing at 480p. O well, the controls make up for the poor graphics. Lol it will just make crysis look THAT much better when I get my new PC in a few months ha

Thanks for the help guys... but is it normal to have those two black bars on the side of the screen while I am playing re4? Its like the bars when you watch a movie.

Jermone123
just to make it clear, RE4 is NOT the best-looking wii game. check mario galaxy and monster hunter 3 (when it comes out here) to see what the wii's made of :P

no it isn't. it's not awful as TC states. but it's a gamecube game after all. many many games blow RE4 out of the water.

Such as Super Mario Galaxy.

Its simply gorgeous.

I never had any problems with Resident Evil 4 on Wii, I think it is easily the best version out of all of them. Kinda funny, remember when Resident Evil 4 was a Gamecube exclusive...

actually it is dont be so picky, all reviewers said the graphics still look good to this day and they meant the PS2 version which has worse graphics then the Wii and gamecube versions.

2 words: Component Cables. And since you're playing on a HDTV, it is required too.

Yeah its normal. RE4 isn't true widescreen - its 4:3 stretched to 16:9. It looks really bad on my HDTV as well. Its a shame because it looks really great on SDTV sets. HDTV's and RE4 don't work for some reason. FYI - the PC version will look better but only if you download the texture patches. The normal version looks much worse than the Wii version!

The Wii version is true widescreen and dont use standar cables on HDTV. Get component cables. The GC and PS2 version dont have true widescreen.

we all know that wii isn't known for graphics.

you can't compare a pc game with wii, the graphics are obviously going to be enormously different

finally, you cant expect zelda and mario to be same quality of graphics as they are very different styles, mario and zelda are cartoony games, such as the classic snes and nes games, so they will have very different graphics

First of all, the component cables are a lot better even if your TV only supports 480i and not 480P but has the component inputs. Second of all, the Wii is a standard definition console. It is not designed for large screens. The quality of the graphics significantly decreases 1) as you get closer to the screen, 2) as the screen size increases. The best setup for Wii is a small screen--the smaller the better. Twilight Princess, for example, goes from atrocious to gorgeous when you are at the right size and distance. On my 60 inch screen, for example, I prefer to run the Wii in a smaller, picture in picture box. Finally, note that the 480P resolution is not a magic bullet. In my opinion it really does not remedy the problem for the larger screens. It is better as the above screen shots show, but it doesn't really fix the problem which is a lack of resolution. That said, Twilight Princess, Resident Evil, Super Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Trilogy all over fantastic visuals (Nintendo is unsurpassed with respect to art style and polish) but unfortunately the visuals fall apart when stretched over a large screen. This lack of HD compatibility is the Wii's biggest problem. Give RE4 a chance. It is hard to go back to older titles but this one is well worth it.

I have no choice but to say this is a joke deliberately made to explode in a forumite fervor. RE4 on the gamecube was one of the most, if not THE most graphically impressive game on it.

RE4's graphics on the Wii obviously don't look as pretty because its been 4 years since the game came out. Either your standards are absolutely absurd or this is a joke.

Another obvious point to make would be the fact that the Nintendo Wii is not the pinnacle of graphic power. It just isn't as powerful as its two main competitors in the graphic department.

Nintendo doesn't really care as far as I can tell. The whole, "We've sold more Wii's than PS3's or 360's" bit seems to be kind of a fact. I guess if you can't look past the slightly-less-than-phenomenal graphics to reach the core game, then that's your problem.

The sad thing about it is....

if you think that RE4 looks horrible.... play 90% of the other Wii games out there because developers don't seem to mind releasing poop looking games.

There are some gems, but mostly not.

My suggestions are to buy component cables, and look at Haziqonfire's thread towards the top of the board (sticky). It shows you what games are coming out, and what the look like.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is quite a looker just as a heads up (for a Wii game)

danger_ranger95

you think all wii gaMEs look bad , well considering its standards those games loo kpretty good

this isnt the 360 were talkin about go check re 5 if you think re4 looked bad by todays standard then re5 is a step backwards considering the platform its on l

so ya re is not about graphics any more , , nor was gaming its about the gameplay so stop whining
