I once thought it would be a sin to port RE5 to the Wii. But as more footage was revealed, I've quicly changed my mind. What about you?

The Wii can't handle the AI
The added power allows the zombies to act like never before in the series.

Yeah, the zombies are really smart in RE5, look at their super strategies, never before experienced gameplay. :|

Yup. A game that is, at best, a graphical upgrade of RE4. Same animations, same physics, same everything - excepts for graphics that, frankly, aren't improving the experience.
Sincerely, rehashing the RE4 engine in a game supposed to be the definiton of next gen is just sad. It's as if Capcom has given up on this game.

They're greatly improved from previous efforts.
In a lot of cases this is the way the series should have been done from the start.
The zombies actually remind me of a superior version of the Dino Crisis AI where they try every possible way to get to you. Even in Dino Crisis they had preset paths to follow.
Resident Evil 5 really opens up the ability to make zombies come at you from all angles, not constrained by hardware limitations where you only have a few preset paths for each character to follow if they're impeded.

I didn't say it wasn't more than a graphical upgrade. But it is still well beyond the Wii's capabilities and would have to be built from the ground up to run on the system.

the added power allows the enemies to act dumber then ever just like RE4 the RE5 A.I consists soley of running up to u at top speed then slowing down to the same speed as zombies in the original games.

Dead Rising Wii is built from the ground. So why not RE5 too?

"From the ground" is too much exaggeration. RE5 is using the same engine as RE4 and not its own. More than half the job is done to make it run on Wii.

The same Capcom that created RE4 when many people though RE was dead.
wow this video proves a lot of nothing....RE4 doesnt look that crappy on my tv so why would RE5webbut
There is an obvious graphics difference between a last and current gen game displayed with the same resolution (let's say, play MGS3 and MGS4 on an SDTV). If RE5 was such a mindblowing upgraded from RE4, there's no reason it wouldn't be noticeable in that comparison. Besides, we're not just comparing graphics, but the whole game engine - it's the freacking same.
aside from all the visual flare of the 360 and ps3, i dont think the wii is capable of handling enemy ai. i also read a hands-on that the game is creating a "never a safe zone" atmosphere where your constantly on the run. all that action??? wii cant hold that much construction. but seriously, after watching that trailer..it seems that the only thing re5 has over re4 is visual prowess, enemy ai, annnnnd thats about it. the game looks like a total rehash. so who the hell would wanna play it, if havent played re4 ofcourse?red_sovereign

Ha, yeah. But people get crazy for "next gen" features that have been actually created back in the 80's.

MM9 is mostly fan service, but in some aspects, yeah. MM series was dead, there would be no point in making MM9 if there wasn't some crazy idea in it. Also, it's pretty much just the looks, since the bolts, Bass, Auto, and all that stuff from MM7/MM8 is back. Not to mention some crazy mechanics we can see in gameplay videos.
Like it was already said, if Dead Rising can be ported over and if the porting is done right then the game can be done on the Wii easily. A number of games coming out for the PS3 and 360 are also showing up on the Wii as well so to think that this game won't show up is just plain stupid. Why move Dead Rising onto the Wii after it being out for so long if they didn't think it could be done and make money, and with how well the RE games have done on the Wii and how well (I'm guessing here) Dead Rising will do just as well.
Yea it'll have to be worked slightly to make it run and perform well, but I have no doubt it'll happen after seeing the video and playing through RE4: Wii Edition. At this point its not so much if but when? Capcom would be foolish not to go for it, there's alot of money to be made with the Wii and might even help more developers get on board for doing more multiplatform games with the Wii as well. I won't be surprised at all when Resident Evil 5: Wii Edition is announced.
EPIC FAIL!!! Who cares how good the graphics are anyways? If they went to lower graphics everyone would be happy. Also it isn't total rehash from RE4 there is a new storyline!poolwatcher
yes, storyline obviously makes up for the game PLAYING almot the same as RE4 :|
Even Fatal Frame IV looks decent on the Wii.. RE5 is doable.. the controls make the game..-Skeletor-
You say that as if the controls will suck. They were fantastic on a standard gamepad in RE4.

Also it isn't total rehash from RE4 there is a new storyline!poolwatcherhonesly, not many people play the re series for the 'gripping story lines'! its more the combat. and until re4 was released, all previous titles followed the same manuscript, battlewise atleast. now re5 is amongst us and that revealing footage that was posted showed (offering irrefutable evidence) that re5 is bascially mimicing the battle mechanics from re4. im starting to think thats capcom fashion! so people who rlly want re5, have probably already played it, to a certain degree!

OMFG, I cant believe this. It doesnt matter they have the same animations and mechanics or whatever, the game is completely different if you think about it. I mean, Megaman 1 through 6 are what you would say exactly the same (and now Megaman 9), same graphics, same gameplay, but they are freaking fun! All of them, it doesn't matter they are played the same way, with the same graphics or whatever. Heck, even OoT and MM are what you would say "identical", yet so different, completely different, and fun. That's all what matters. I can't believe people are saying this is a game is not worth playing because it is a rehash or whatever of RE4. Now, I have always believed that RE5 should have been developed for the Wii. It's not impossible! "OMG, Wii can't handle it", says who? They said exactly the same thing about FFXIII, and, OMFG, now there's a version for XBOX60. I mean, do we even know the capabilities, the full capabilities of every console??? No. "OMG, the Zombies are so smart". Has anyone played the game yet. Experienced it??? No. I don't think anyone here. I'm sure they could have made one version for the Wii

WOOO-SAAAA!!!Even if it did come to the Wii, you have the choice of not buying it. So what the heck?
I wouldn't buy it though. I'd rather stick to RE4

A version unlike the others that isn't as good?
Sure, they could do that easy
In terms of graphics? Yes.
In terms of gameplay? It could be even better with the Wii Controls.
No it wouldn't because the zombies wouldn't act the same
Look at the watered down Dead Rising, those zombies are the least functioning zombies we've seen in a game in ages and they still had to be dumbed down for the Wii.
Now you have the most advanced zombies in Resident Evil 5, there's no way that can translate to the Wii.
my friend who has an XBOX360 even says it should come to the wii. I dont mind if the graphics aren't as good and who cares if the controls/enemies are the same from the last re game, people can't look past graphics and surface values and realize that it's a new game with new enemies, puzzles, location, and most of all storyline! Another friend I know only plays FF12 because it has a great story. Hell, I PLAY KINGDOM HEARTS, I go through ridicule and hardship because of the great story. So if your more concerned about looks of a game get your head out of your ass and play a game with awesome graphics but horrible story, then you'll see what your missing

The A.I. of the Ganados in RE4 wasn't that bad. A little upgrade would do the trick for a possible Wii Port. Besides, The Conduit's enemy A.I. will be very Human-Like.

And just how intelligent can some Brainless zombies be?
