Most of my games I usually play in 2d anyway. 3d is a nice gimmick for cutscenes or if there's something you want to look at real quick, but it's kind of a pain to play for any extended period in 3d.

Well, it is IS called the 3DS... Games are supposed to look amazing in 3D.Are you really going to let an optional feature ruin the game for you?

This really doesn't have much to do with this conversation but anyone kind of puzzled by the limited number of times you can play the demo? sure its a lot, it just struck me a weird.ekalbtwinI guess you missed the original announcement Nintendo made that it was going to offer demos on the e-shop. They said back then there would be a limit to the number of plays which would vary from demo to demo.
Even with the 3d effect up (on the console and the demo options) it still seems pretty poor to me, about as good as the 3d camera with the optional effect intensity at normal and about as good as Kid Icarus 3d classics when at maximum... Otherwise the graphics are pretty awesome.
The 3D is fine. Maybe you're holding it at the wrong angle. I don't use 3D much anyway. Just turned it on to see how it was.
How do you switch it to third person shooting? I dislike the first-person aim.
Edit: Nevermind, I found out how. Gyrosensor controls are really cool, although I prefer traditional ones.
Edit 2 (Killmeh!): Actually, gyroscopic controls are VERY cool. In fact, I might not even need that disgusting Circle Pad Pro for it.
the 3d isn't great, but i still kind of like it. might switch the the 2d for the full version though
ok, played it again. the first time it was in a light room, so it didnt look great. second time was in the dark. turn the 3d to very strong and its actually pretty good. the 3d in the gameplay, that is. the cut scenes were lacking.
seems like a nice mashup of REmake and RE4. Looking forward to this one.
Also, its weird having Y as the main action button in this game.
Good thing I hate 3D, and I bought the system for the great software and not for that one gimmicky featureEssianThis. Too bad the 3D makes the system to cost more because it is really something useless.

how is depth a gimmick? You know why you have two eyes right?
I love Resident Evil and don't care about 3D BUT if you crank the 3D effect up in the Options menu of the game, it looks awesome in 3D!
Looks great in 3D to me. Better in all regards vs. 2D for my eyeballs. I am not 100% into the gameplay thus far though to be honest. I'm just not clicking w/ the demo.
Am I the only one who seems to think the game looks a lot better in 3D? I had it on very strong and the game pops and looks way more vivid in 3D to me, looks just bland in 2D tbh.... maybe it's just me though.F0urTwentyI agree, I may play this game more often in 3D because I think it looks great with Strong or higher settings. I did get some double image effects, but I notice that I only get that when I'm "tired" if that makes sense. I think it's true, that 3D can cause some strain on the eye, but when I play late in the night, I usually play games in 2D. When I play them in the day or when I'm more alert, I prefer 3D and I never have issues with them too.
I noticed some frame rate drops with it on.I'm keeping the 3d off, it was prettysub-par.

I'm not really surprised as I've yet to be impressed with a single title while having 3D enabled. The jaggies are always prevalent and IMO the 3DS looks much better in standard 2D. It certainly ins't a deal breaker for me however as I puchased the system solely for exclusives like this :)
Just found this thread searching for some info on the 3D depth option in the menu. I'm surprised it's hidden away in the menu. I think it looks much better with it on very strong. Loving the game so far but I've found the circle pad pro a little difficult to use so far. Not too keen on the shape of it in the palm of my hand.
(Off-topic) This game proves to myself that I want good graphics on a handheld and has pretty much secured my future purchase of the vita.
