what do you mean guys by wifi, i know i can connect to internet with the ds and play with other ppl, but there isnt a Toy's r us around so what i have to do?

Get mystery gift in your pokemon game (read online on how to do that). Then you should just be able to useing mystery gift, I don't entirely know how to use mystery gift...never tried before. At least you know where to start now :D
thanks for the info, but first i need to get my first badge to acces the mistery gift function lol but i hope i can get the key, also, anyone out there can trade some pokemons, i dont care if they are legit or not, btw, whats the diff?
My 8-year-old son is desparate to download the Rotom Secret Key in Pokemon Pearl. He's appears to have followed all the necessary steps & we now have a "Mystery Gift" mention option - I've configured "Nintendo WFC" connection (all tested OK) but we get a message "There were no gifts to be found" when we try to download. We live in the UK - is it only possible to download if you live in the US or Canada (or am I being thick?). I'd really appreciated any help you can give as I don't really know anything about Pokemon Pearl & my son is going crazy trying to get this - Thanks.

Yeah, it is only avvailable in the U.S. and Canada at this time, you did everything right, except i am pretty sure you need Platinum, however like i said, it does not spand to the U.K. Hopefully soon Nintendo will host the event in the U.K.
does this work for anyone with diamond or pearl? i hate that there will now be events specific to platinum. i was never one to replay the pokemon game a second time just because of a new version and dont want to to get this

It is not able to work with Diamond and Pearl, only Platinum. The event won't work in Diamond and Pearl, because Rotom can't change form in either of them, which is pretty much the only reason for getting the key.

My friend lives in south america and it worked for him. Either you need an USA version of the game or this event is only available for both North and South America.
