Any AAA effort in 2009 would have been a huge win for any company. Capcom has certainly made some huge mistakes for Wii, but they are still one of the better advocates for the system

This much I agree with. In fact, it's probably possible to make the argument that Capcom is still the best third party publisher the Wii has seen, especially with its support early on in the system's life. Still, much like with the rest of the group, they could be doing so much more with the platform if someone within really dedicated itself to a top-notch Wii project that isn't setback by compromise or looking for a quick and easy way to make a sale.
There is still time, though, so I think it's fair to remain hopeful that a positive turn will finally occur.
Ya could, would, should. At this point I won't be holding my breath. The biggest efforts we have seen so far are MHTri and RS2 and those are AA efforts for various reasons.I'm totally for a remake of Resident Evil 2 with Resident Evil 2 gameplay. The old gameplay is obsolete by today's standards[QUOTE="dovberg"]

I wouldn't mind seeing another Resident Evil game where both ammo and enemies are scarce, as opposed to Resident Evil 4 where enemies commonly drop ammo and you get swarmed by them like all the time.
But yeah, I definitely would not like to see a reprise of the tank-like controls of the Resident Evils before 4.

The biggest efforts we have seen so far are MHTri and RS2 and those are AA efforts for various reasons.I didn't say I was holding my breath, but I try to have at least a trace of optimism when I can. lol At this point I'm very aware of both the circumstance of the Wii and where third party publishers are in general; if a major game of AAA impact was going to come, it wouldn't have taken it three and a half years for it to come out. I've said it several times before in the past, but the only game I'm expecting to reach such a status on the Wii that isn't from Nintendo now is Dragon Quest X, and since announcing it, Square-Enix has been MIGHTY quiet about it, which makes me start to ponder about that game, as well.
Still, this is a gen that has had its share of surprises already, so I can't shut out the possibility of seeing another one entirely. :P
dont forget the door's animations and the item boxes![QUOTE="GabuEx"]

Oh, I don't know, I thought the door animations actually legitimately added to the suspense, especially that one time in Resident Evil 2 where you open a door and then HOLY **** HOLY **** ZOMBIES
Not sure what you mean by "item boxes".
I can't find a pic but maybe this can refresh your mind :POh, I don't know, I thought the door animations actually legitimately added to the suspense, especially that one time in Resident Evil 2 where you open a door and then HOLY **** HOLY **** ZOMBIES

Oh, those things.
Well, I prefer them to needing to just throw things away, myself. :P
This is Capcom we're talking about, they always have more to rehash lol. But you'll excuse me if I have no excitement about seeing the words Resident Evil and Wii in the same sentence.Cool, I guess, although I'm kind of hoping for a new game rather than mostly just a retelling of old games. They've covered like almost all of the Resident Evils in their Chronicles by now, so they ought to have no old material to rehash anymore. :P

I'll keep an eye out for it but Im probably done with RE since Shinji Mikami isnt directing the series anymore.

Dragon Quest X is a possibility.nuh uh they haven't retold 4 yet. I really wish they would push forward though. Hopefully the if there is a new Resident Evil for the Wii the camera won't be like telling an owl to jog at noon.http://www.nintendoeverything.com/37350/
"In 2009, a forum member on Vandal Online claimed to have information about the next Resident Evil title for Wii. When the message was posted, the game supposedly had been in development for more than a year. According to the "insider", it would be a spin-off, but it would feature a mix of third-person exploration/tension elements and on-rails shooting segments.
Fast-forward a few months later (Thursday) and another member says that the game was at Captivate this past week. Obviously, none of this means anything until we receive a confirmation. There is a small amount of credibility to the rumor, however, as the information comes from the same person who leaked details about Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. It should also be noted that Capcom recently said that the company has unannounced games in the works for the Wii/DS and that fans should look out for Captivate for announcements. Oh, and there's apparently a big announcement coming this month. But, still, I repeat what I said earlier – Take this as a huge grain of salt until next week."
Thought you all would find this interesting. Hopefully this is true and we will get a somewhat true Resident Evil experience on the Wii sometime in the near future.

Good point, they could always give us "Resident Evil 4: Rail Shooter Edition".
God I would hate that so muchHow about a completely re-imagined reboot of the series? I think they really messed up the story line.
To me, the story is shoot the zombies with the old awkward controls till your play it on the Wii and point and shoot while fighting the zombie/cameraHow about a completely re-imagined reboot of the series? I think they really messed up the story line.

[QUOTE="UbiquitousAeon"]To me, the story is shoot the zombies with the old awkward controls till your play it on the Wii and point and shoot while fighting the zombie/camera I'm not talking about the on-rails games. I have never played them. I am talking about the main series. I was fine with the story up until Resident Evil 4. Now it's getting pretty stupid. Don't get me wrong, I love the game play (even more than the old ones) but Resident Evil 4 and 5 really messed it up for me when it comes to actually caring about the story of the RE world. How about a completely re-imagined reboot of the series? ? RE4 is a side plot, NOTHING TO DO with the main series ...RE5 I assume is the continuation of the main RE series...so how is it mess up?..you didn't like the path the story took so its messed up? eh?

Resident Evil 5's story is muddled and full of plot holes. No comment on RE4's storyline.[QUOTE="Serraph105"]nuh uh they haven't retold 4 yet.GabuEx

If Capcom does do that, then I would love to know what their reasoning is. Yes rail shooters are cheaper to make, but as Madmangamer said they still have costs in development and their recent rail shooter has not sold too well.I'm totally for a remake of Resident Evil 2 with Resident Evil 4 gameplay.

As much as i don't like Remakes and i prefer a new game, i have to agree with this, RE2 is my favorite RE of all time and it could very fun to play it again in RE4 style.
Bleh but there are so many versions of that game (5??) I don't think they would make yet another version of it. dtno132
Capcom loves to make different versions of the same RE game. RE1 had the PS1 original version, PS1 director's cut, PS1 dualshock edition, ds port, sega saturn port , PC port and the gamecube remake
