Game informer gave it a 7. something i think. I might check it out, all though I don't base anything off IGN scores, because more often than not, they are biased reviews.
I'm glad this received a good review im probley pick this up at the end of the month since i just bought GTA: Chinatown Wars and Mirrors Edge today lol.

Perhaps, but the same thing can be said about GS being biased against the Wii. GS tends to give lower scores than IGN on some Wii games; I just thought that those of you who are waiting this game should know what IGN thinks since their scores tend to be also used here (especially in SW).
Idc what gamespot says. Even IGN can be a little iffy sometimes but they are still more reliable than most sources. I actually think NP does pretty good with my scoring, even though they play favorites sometimes. 8.3 is good enough that people that are on the fence will get it I think.
As I expected seems like a pretty awesome title. I always prefered the 2-D Harvest Moon games but I will pick this up in the future, but not right now because this month is packed with DS releases and Madworld of course. So I will just wait until the systems have a slow month so that I can get it.
Seeing as this will be my first Harvest Moon/Rune Factory game, I truthfully don't know what to expect. I hope it gets good reviews even though I care not for reviews. I just hope I'll like the game. I'm into RPG's and stuff so this should be right up my alley from what I've seen.
I hope to get it tomorrow if its in. This will be my first foray into the Harvest Moon genre as well, but I think Ill enjoy it. I've been wanting a laid back game to play and this looks to be it. Seems like I can sit around crafting weapons and armour for hours, which is something I'll enjoy.
Just wish they used the Wiimote better. From the sounds of the IGN review, I'd rather be playing it on 360 or PS3 if it hardly takes advantage of motion controls.
For me it's a solid 8.5 and better than ToT or Animal Crossing. This should be a great new series for Nintendo as I'm enjoying the heck out of it. The days feel longer, the World is beautiful and I always have a ton of things I 'could' do. My choice!!
Really well done!
To stop this thread from being solely about numbers, here's a summary of what IGN had to SAY about the game:
+ "a game that feels like an impressive, polished first effort for the franchise on Wii"
+ "while it's possible to max everything out, it could take 100+ hours to do it. This game is massive; if it had online connectivity for multiplayer it'd be a serious Animal Crossing killer for the more hardcore crowd."
- "the game has a fixed camera, which means you'll be doing a lot of running towards the camera or smacking into buildings until you commit the maps to memory"
- "As the most annoying aspect for me personally though, the game can be extremely tough to figure out what to do, and who to talk with ...Each of the game's main items work in that way, and it's one of those things I wish was streamlined more. Finding the pet-taming glove requires a random meet-up, as does getting the coveted fishing pole. When it comes to buying weapons, seeds, armor and equipment, you're at the mercy of the game's own timetable, and until you're allowed to buy something you'll just wander around wondering why things aren't open to you yet."
+ "the overall experience is a great one, and anyone looking for a more mature RPG/dungeon crawling offering on Wii should dive into Rune Factory head on."
+ "The in-game art is simply beautiful, the free-form economy and "do anything" design is well executed, making for the best console Harvest Moon experience since Nintendo 64"
+ "certainly in the upper bracket of visual offerings. This is a beautiful, well-packaged title"
+ "The visuals are beautiful, the world itself is well-crafted, and the design is as deep and addictive as the best titles in the Harvest Moon/Rune Factory series"
+ "its console debut is one that fans should really get behind"
+ "a great package, and one of the deepest RPG's on the system thus far"
Bottom Line: Impressive.
I don't have either games, but from what I've read, Harvest Moon is all farming and life sim-ish and Rune Factory has more fantasy elements in it like monster hunting/catching and stuff, right? This actually sounds pretty good. I'll definitely consider this one. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between RF and Harvest Moon? They seem pretty much the same.

I'm really glad to hear it compared to Harvest Moon 64. One of the best Harvest Moon games ever. All the other outings on a console just paled in comparison. I love Rune Factory, haven't had a chance to play it yet. I can't wait to get matched up with this one. Should be a lot of fun!
