Looks more than generic. If this were even pitched to a 360 publisher, they'd shoot it down. The only reason why people care about this game is because there is little to compare it to on the Wii. That doesn't make it a good game.

i respect ur stance on it, but im going to give it a try... even if it gets a 7. when u say that ur sick of fps's, im assuming that ur sick of dual analog or mouse and keyboard. the wiimote plays very different from the other two. solid controls and top of the line graphics is a good enough reason for me to get it. anyone that ONLY owns a wii should def pick this one up.

im looking at this from a more optomistic perspective. the game has come THIS far w/o a publisher. matt cass also mentioned that after this game was announced, 11 or 12 publishers called them showing interest in the game. and ill admit, im a nintendo fanboy, so i cant help but get hyped about a game that is ambitious enough to do two things

1: flirt with the graphical limits of the wii

2: season up wii's stale fps library

i own a 360 as well, so im not shooter deprived. just looking for what we all want, a good game.

i'm actually just sick of the idea of a fps. Running around and shooting in first person just isn't my thing right now so i guess i really don't have too much against the game. If Gyrostarr and Animales turn out i'll keep an eye out for it. It definently could turn into a killer app for hardcore gamers.

Other examples then. Brothers in Arm's introduced a good single player squad mechanic, FEAR with it's impressive AI, Battlefield introduced huge multiplayer, or Bioshock's atmosphere.

In any case, the genre is far from stale. It's just that I don't see anything worth noting about this game.

i cant and wont try to convince u to give tis game a chance, but i dont know what u mean by The graphics dont look as good as they claimed they could make them. the visuals look far better than the vast majority seen on wii. and i dont know what u were expecting from their "claims"

This game will be a hit if it does a few things:

1. Make the controls on par with MoH:H2
2. A decent story and single player campaign
3. Solid online multi-player for those that care

If MoH:H2 is any indication of what the Wii can do for FPS's, then The Conduit doesn't really need to be incredible to be a great game. What I mean is, MoH:H2 is a well polished psp port that if it used regular analog controls no one would have ever paid any attention to it. So I'm pretty sure any FPS can be made great on the Wii if the controls are done well.

This game looks as boring as every other alien-invasion-shooter out there. Seriously, the game is so derivative, I have a sense of deja-vu just looking at the bloody videos. Its generic. It does absolutely nothing to distance itself from the competition on other consoles. At the very least, Red Steel had an interesting premise, and MP3 is an adventure game. That spices things up. Apparently, this game doesnt.

The graphics are also average. Honestly, High Voltage have never been one for developing games that push the envelope in terms of graphics, and I very much doubt that they are going to start. Sure, they showed us a relatively impressive engine, but that has yet to translate into actual in game stuff. Until it does, Im not interested.

This should not be one of the most anticipated games for the Wii. The developers have sucked in the past, and sucked hard. They are hyping their game the same way Nibris did with Sadness, and that game just evapourated into oblivion anyway.

People *should* be anticipating Tales of Symphonia, Mad World, De Blob, Deadly Creatures, Mushroom Men, ect. Not this crap that does the same thing every game last generation did before from a developer thats known to make crud.

I would so love to be proven wrong, but... well. We will see.

dude, MP3 pulled WAAAAY better graphics than this game (granted its still in development) but the gameplay does look generic. the poster you showed looks like a wannabe Half Life 2 (and anything that tries to beat Half-Life 2 at its own game will fail...unless its Half-Life 3). its good to know that at least High Voltage is putting an effort into their graphics engine (or at least the advertisement of it) but that doesnt make it good. The graphics are unimpressive esspecially when stacked up against MP3 or SMG (hell, even SSBB). However, the saving grace for me will be if it has multiplayer (local and online, but it only has local i'll be cool with it) and if the gameplay is varied/wii controls are sublime. but as of right now, it does not look like a purchase and does not look any different than the constant stream of boring FPS's flooding the video game market today.
