I'm getting Hori screen protectors for the Dsi and would like to know if they ever wear out. Like, would it ever lose the stickyness and then start popping off? I don't want to replace them every so often as the screens are expensive.
I've heard only great things about Hori's screenies, and I can attest to their quality personally. Since they use static to cling to the screen, I don't think they'll eventually fall off. A word of warning, make sure you eliminate as much dust in the area as you can before applying the protectors. I cannot stress this enough. A good method of doing this is to somehow get the room as humid as possible, like running a boiling hot shower for a few minutes. Even then, you're bound to get a hair or two.
And what would happen if theres too much dust before appliance? I have some on the corners of my screen that can't be picked off. And I don't quite follow you on the humid room thing.
Well, the dust and debris is just annoying more than anything. Otherwise, I don't think it'll actually affect anything such as peeling corners. Even if you do trap some, it's not usually noticeable when the screens are on. Oh yeah, if you do trap too much dust or hair, you can use some scotch tape and dab it off the protectors. So don't worry if you have to reapply the screens a few times before it's at a place your comfortable with. They won't wear out.
EDIT: Oh, and on the humidity thing: the moisture in the air will clig to the dust and cause it to fall to the ground. So, that should make it easier to avoid getting dust under the protector.
