Its a fun little system. Like you said, its only $250. The VC content is great and the Wii will be worth it even for a few exclusive games. It makes a great second system. Bottom line, you will have some fun with it....isn't that worth it to you?
I have had Wii since launch and only found a couple games to be good. I am getting Mario Party 8 tomorrow and that might be the last straw for me and the Wii (one of the only games my wife will play). Mario Party hasn't been good since 4. Maybe it's my age, but I can't see playing Wii games in the near future that look like Prince of Persia.  Even Zelda looked pretty bad on my Samsung 1080p even with the component cable. If you have an HDTV and use it to watch Hi def movies or watch Hi def tv a lot, I wouldn't suggest a Wii.
It's not just the graphics for me though. I have lost the thrill of the controller after a short period of time. Playing through Zelda and trying other games like Wario Ware, Madden, Prince of Persia (Wii Sports of course), it's just not fun anymore and that's what matters most. Also, the VC games are overpriced IMO and who knows when the really good ones (RPG's for me) will come out...
It's a pretty fun system, and I like how the controllers are made, or in this case Wiimotes. Some of the games aren't as physically interactive as others, but either way it's fun.
Use this test. Can you play games that are incredibly fun,social,addictive and online but aren't in super dooper wizz bang high def. If you said yes, then Wii is for you.
PSWii is the perfect combination IMO. Its what i plan to get.;) Only after the price goes down though.mjgballin
I'm going for PSWii60 myself, though, also once the PS3s price goes down. I mean, I can get a lot of better thigs for $600 for me to not buy it at that price.
i was also freaking hesitant. this was my first nintendo system and i was really afraid to get this im not a big Mario fan. but i wanted something new--wasnt worried about graphics(you got the PS3 so dont worry) . new type of gameplay was something i wanted and i got it. so if you want something "revolutionary", get it. i still have one game (dont have too much time to play) and its RedSteel, very good. it'll get better games soon (besides SSBB).

I don't know what you mean by that. Of course anyone can have two systems, and I agree with him for getting a wii. The PS3 has some good games, but its ok if you also want SPM, Zelda, and Metroid 3, or just some nice motion sensing.
im getting really sick of these same threads coming up everyday. But as i have posted, Yes get one, it will bring you much fun and will put a smile on your face, Seriously it will.
How should I know whether you should buy a Wii or not? Do you want to play the games that are out, and are coming out, for the Wii? If you're not interested in the Wii's games don't buy a Wii.
