If you mean in the style of action-fighting style.. I disagree. I really enjoy the way it's been since the 90's.

funny when i was little thats what i pictured pokemon stadium on the n64 to be like. but no, its was very boaring and disapointing. so i think it would be crazy if one pokemon game would be like ssb.

No, I really don't see why make Pokemon a fighting game when iit's fun as a turned based.

Not the exact same thing, that would be reserved for an SSP. However I wouldn't mind it if they attempted to make a pokemon game with real-time fighting instead of turn based. It would probably be the optimal battle format if they made a Pokemon MMO.

A spin-off could always be created just to see how it would do, but changing the formula entirely is not necessary.

There are way too many pokemon to put into a fighter, not only that but I would much rather see the usual Pokemon formula improved even more

fighting style? no.

more time-based and action oriented combat system? why not, maybe not for a main series, but surely for spin off. turn-based is getting little tiresome these days.

i think a tales of styIe would be better. half side-scrolling, half 3D, 1 move for each variation of the analog + B, a button to jump, a button to switch pokemon, and a button for items.

Theres just to much in pokemon games for it to follow a more action based formula and still preserve its main charm...the uniqueness of each pokemon and pokemon battle

There are a few problems like pokemon only can only know 4 moves at a time and the only real difference between pokemon of the same type is their stats so you d have a lot of pokemon who are the same. If you look at brawl each char has about 23 moves(not including aerial versions of special attacks) and for the most part movesets that each char have a unique(even the clones).Pokemon have only 4 moves they can learn but there are a total 467 moves in poke sure no single pokemon can learn all of those moves but even if u exclude the moves a pokemon cant learn its still a lot of moves to chose from. Another problem would be animations for each pokemon and their moves it would be impossible to have each pokemon have a unique animation for each of the moves it could learn. So it would have to be like the Stadium type games where moves with similar effects are grouped into a general animation that covers all of them with minor differences like color and size.To keep each pokemons uniqueness the game would have to allow u to import the stats of pokemon u have in D/P/P and use them to effect the hp the speed and the defense of the pokemon that are fighting.

I just had a great idea!

How about they make a Pokémon game where you go on Safari and take pictures of all Pokémon that you'll encounter?

Pokemon Fighting Games = Fail. Pokemon RPGs = Epic Win. Pokemon has always made a better handheld game, an RPG on the go. Any attempts at 3D remakes or console titles have all ended in failure. Pokemon Stadium was dull, Pokemon Colosseum was just utterly strange, and Pokemon Battle Revolution was a flop. Keep what works, don't change it until it stops working.

how about instead of a fighting game...they make it a real time action rpg. they can still retain the 4 attack rule...ony each attacks have different radius effects and all that. Like attacks like ember and bubble would be projectile attacks and tackle would be physical.

RPG has worked for years, keep it that way. We've seen what happened with anything other than hand-held RPGs.

Yeah thats what i was picturing in my head when i was saying all of that but it would still be a pain. There would be balancing issues. Speed stat would mess up the game. The speed in the rpg pokemon games are made for a turn based game where no matter how slow or fast your speed is the order will still be the faster pokemon then the slower one theres never an instance where the faster pokemon goes twice in a row because its fast. But if u move the speed stat into an environment where u have to move around now those speeds are unbalanced. Take snorlax for example his speed maxes out at 143 if he were to go up a magamar(who are not even known for speed) the snorlax would get owned every time because magmars speed maxes out at like 313. hes moving twice the speed. Snorlax has a way higher max HP but they have around the same attack. It would be practicly impossible for a casual pokemon player to win with the slow but strong pokemon

OK guys, I think most of you aren't getting what we mean. I by no means want the cannon pokemon games changed fundamentally. But I would by no means say no to a spin-off pokemon game with real-time battles. We had ranger, mystery dungeon, puzzle league, etc, so why not a real time battle game?

Hand held systems should stay the same, but consoles should try to approach Pokemon in a new way. So I wouldn't mind trying out a new Pokemon game.

No. Pokemon is a turn based game, so platforming wouldn't really work out too well.

I've always wanted a Pokemon game that was real-time, and it could be possible, assigning certain moves to certain buttons. It would take a lot of work however, to program the speed of each character and how attacks would work and such. It would be a real gem however.

NO. That is an insane idea. Although I love it if Pokemon went a little more real time. Turn-base is getting a little slow for me now. Maybe if it was more like Diablo :P

The next big pokemon thing that is different should be an mmo....but even that should feel excatly the same as the old games just with the npcs replaced with real people no people. The battles should stay the same(random battles in the grass) and you should only make parties of 2 people but there should be loads of quests and stuff. and leginardies should be ubber hard to catch and u should have to go thru tons of quests to get them. If everything works out with that they should keep thoses severs running and attempt to make big changes to the game so it plays more like an normal MMO in a new MMO after that. If its done right it could be the 1st real casual/core MMORPG

I don't think turn-based battles would work in an MMO. I would prefer it to be more like WOW where you can actually see the enemies running around. Maybe there could be different servers for different types of play.
