I can see the Sega Board meeting now;
Head Sega Dude 1: How can we throw away lots of posible income and a way of people identifying some iconic figure with Sega?
Head Sega Dude 2: I know we can sell our biggest gaming icon in Sonic and everything we have ever done with him to Nintendo!
Head Sega Dude 3: Yeah why not it's not like his games dont sell regardless of what we stick in them, look at how well Sonic Heroes sold for us we don't wanna be making money like that again any time soon so lets get rid of it quickly.
Head Sega Dude 1: So we argee then lets sell are biggest money maker then and make are selves look stupid? All agree say BANKRUPT!
Head Sega Dude 2: BANKRUPT!
Head Sega Dude 3: DREAMCAST...... sorry BANKRUPT!
Simple fact is it just wont ever happen unless they are wanting to lose millions on a sure seller.
he pretty much is Nintendo. Sure, Sega owns the rights but most of his games are for Nintendo consoles.
Can't remember where, but I read that Riders on the G-cube outsold PS2 and X-Box.
so i don't think Sonic's rights should be Nintendo, but he should be on Nintendo.
I think they should just do away with him, he has no appeal and is a joke to the gaming communityFuzzman38No appeal? Are you even aware who Sonic is? and he is far from a Joke in the gaming community as Sonic games still get a lot of interest, and the 16-bit games are legendary.
i agree , sega didnt help nintendo last gen, so why would nintendo want to save a so called competitors franchise , ok if nintendo wants to save any thing i think theyll be more likely to help sony,, after all where do you think sony gets motion sensing idea from,, nintendo lol people dont realise it was nintendos idea that went sour which brought us playstation ,
sony initally was only a developer, they were very little interisted in making thier own console until nintendo came up to them with the ideas,
thats basically what happened to microsoft,, they helped sega with the dreamcast then went on their own , hence why xbox controllers were too similar to dc controllers, 2 expansion ports for memory cards the live service, etc,
so ya nintendo has no obligation to save sega if sega doesnt have an obligation to save mario or any other nintendo franchise,
like i said nintendo would rather help sony if it became bankrupt , then help some one whos already bankrupt and can not make a console,

He certainly did not revolutionise gaming the way Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda have

No, but he did revolutionize gaming to an extent. NO appeal? Appearantly Sakurai took Sonic in Brawl knowing that he has no appeal.
sega has to get the original sonic team back together, so i can play the sequel to ristar ^_^
I think sega should at least become 2nd party with them, theyre rivals, like sonic and knuckles.

the reason I say no appeal is because when you see Mario he is just a teddybear and someone you can relate to but Sonic's look is just to hardcore and will probably die out like Spyro in the next decade or so

Its depends on the person. Mario is so universal and perfect for any game. Not to mention Nintendo has kept the quality up. Sonic still does not have a proper 3d game. Its not that he cant be in a 3d game its just sega has been so incompetant.
hell to the no
Does he even have one? Nintendo would make better games for him.
nintendo would put a smile on his face and have him jumping on mushrooms heads.
he would lose his bad-arse attitude.

Sonic Heroes: "The power of teamwork!" >_>
If we know one thing about Nintendo, it's that they don't **** with their franchises. Hell, Metroid skipped the 64 for Christ's sake. I don't know if it would be better if Nintendo had the Sonic rights, but it sure as hell wouldn't be worse.AuthenticMI don't mean to disagree or argue, but Nintendo messed up Twilight Princess therefore scarring Zelda for life. Link's crossbow training may have filled up the missing extras TP was missing, it didn't treat that scar Zelda now has for eternity. So Sonic on Nintendo would mean the true end of sonic's world.

I wouldn't say that they "****ed" with the Zelda franchise. Sure, it didn't seem as long as previous games (ie. OoT/LttP), but I would hardly say that it wrecked the franchise. If you wanna see a game that screwed with the franchise, all I have to do is point to Faces of Evil on the CD-i (look it up). Either way, here's to hoping that the next installment in the series is something that rivals OoT. And if you wanna talk about the franchises, what they did for Metroid was astounding. I'm not finished with it yet, but I'd almost put it up against Super Metroid at this point.
As far as Sonic goes: He's pretty much been on life support since the 16-bit golden age came to an end. He's fronted a couple of games out of the two dozen or so since then that have been decent, but it's not hilariously wrong to say that he hasnt' fared very well since the Genesis/Sega CD (Sonic CD was the best game out of that bunch). Personally, I'd say that it's time to pull the plug on that poor blue bastard. Hasn't he suffered enough, really? But, in the end, that's Sega's call, not ours.
As a side-note, I think it'd be kinda cool to make the last game in the series a call-back to the early/mid-90's and throw out a kickass platform-esque game on one of the new systems, and end it with Sonic biting the bullet in dramatic fashion. Now that's how you pull the plug on a franchise and an icon.

that doesnt make any sense. why would they help their competitor over sega. nintendo and sega have already collaborated before with mario and sonic and the olympics, SSBB, they might it was well make it official and join up and nintendo help make the next sonic game. also for the people who say they dont have a moral obligation to do it, of course they dont since when has anyone in this buisness made a decision for moral reasons but how can both companies say no to making money.
Okay here's how I see it.If sonic goes to nentendo the games my be better ,but we will lose the sonic we know and love(btw, sonic and the secret rings was a good nentendo sonic game, but sonic was standing for truth and justice bull crap.
just my opinoin
Some people may disagree with me but I liked Sonice Riders:Zero gravity. The controles worked fine when you took time to learn them, it was fast and the gravity concept was cool. I also liked the multiple paths that traks had. I had a blast with this game
Anyway, yeah I would like Nintendo making a sonic game, doesn't mean Nintendo would buy the franchise. Mario and Sonic at the olympic was made by Sega, now it's Nintendo's trun to make a full fledged game with both franchises. (brawl doesn't count) Maybe a game like super mario bros z involving chaos emeralds and the seven stars.
the reason I say no appeal is because when you see Mario he is just a teddybear and someone you can relate to but Sonic's look is just to hardcore and will probably die out like Spyro in the next decade or so
Fuzzman38
how the hell is mario someone that people can relate too?
oh yeah Sega does not have the funding or design crew like Nintendo has if Nintendo took over and followed the story and such then he would have good games like SMG and SSBB ...have you seen sonic get a rating over 9.0? i dont think so
over all yes i say yes that nintendo should take over

Sega does fine when they try. Sonic Rush games, Advance games and secret rings all got farily positive reviews and unleashed is looking great. Not only that, Sega has shown they can still pump out some decent games with condemned, super star tennis, Virtua Fighter, Initial D and more.
