Which is a better game and why? Both seem to be around horror, with the exception that SH is based on an evil town and RE is based on a killer virus. Ive seen the SH movie but have never played it. I just got a Wii and went to look for a SH title and there are none to be found on the GC or Wii. Do the producers of SH hate Nintendo?

Silent Hill 4 is available for the Xbox too, I think that SH5 is also being developed for the 360.

About which is better, I cannot tell since everyone has different tastes. For me, I prefer RE. Why? I like more the fact that they get you through some puzzles and that stuff, while in SH sometimes I felt like I was just going around and around just to get some advance.

Since you haven't played any of them, I would suggest you get RE4 wii version. I've played the GC version and its great. It might be way better with the Wii controls.

I love both but if I have to choose I prefer the resident evil series, on the other side silent hill is more creepy, you don't have guns to protect yourself, it makes the atmosphere havier. Anyway both are great.

RE4 was epic. One of my all time favorites.UC was pretty good for what it was. Not a huge on rails fan but they did a good job of it.

My experience with RE beyond that is limited to the time me and my friend Charlie rented RE2 on N64. We were about 9 or 10 at the time and we couldn't get around the controls. We kept dying in the first room. We quit and played smash bros after a little bit because we sucked so much.

Silent hill isn't on ninty systems and back when I had a PS2 (broke ages ago) my mom wouldn't let me have it. I've been trying to find the movie but can't. Pyramid head is still awesome though

Ditto. The FF series is seriously spooky (far more so than any RE game IMO).

The mother? Each game put a different character in the staring role. The closest to the one we see in the movie is actually the MALE character that you play in the first one.

Always played way more Resident Evil than Slient Hill, so I've got to go with the RE series. I will say that the Silent Hill games are way more creepy, so they nail the "horror" in the Survial/Horror genre a lot better!

Silent Hill is scary as hell. Ive played the 2nd and 4th ones. Resident Evil 1 Remake(for GC) is so scary that I cant even keep a steady hand while playing. I personally like RE better because you can actually use guns and protect yourself. My favorite of the series is RE4 because its more of a 3rd person shooter than a survival horror game.

While I am a fan of both, Resdent Evil is far better than Silent Hill. You're not missing out on much as Silent Hill basically copied Resident Evil and replaced Zombies with Demons.

Can somone explain to me what happens in the very end of the SH movie? I see the mother holding Sharon and she says don't open your eyes and Alessa is creeping over. Then the picture changes to them coming home and the father wakes up and think they're home but realizes that no one is there. Did the Mom and sharon die from Alessa?

depends on taste..

SH is by far one of the best series f horror survival... RE was horror at first but nowat days is more an action horror... From the point of view of a horror fan: SH is better in horror and creepy atmosphere...

THat said... SH like said above s not on N... and i`m pretty sure that RE is a better start.. SH tends to be too slow for some ppl (reason why most hee will say RE, if tey have even play SH)

Fatal Frame.

I can't wait for number 4.

Hells_Hammer

YES!!!!! I`m so with you.... is suppose to come this summer (at least in JP...) of course I prefer for it o be "delay" than rush, so I can wait as ong as it takes for my next dose of FF4 :D

Resident Evil is more entertaining for me, going more for the puzzle aspect than the "scare the living **** out of you" aspect.

They both have great stories, though.

Resident Evil 4 is completely different from the rest. While some consider it a change for the best, others think it destroyed the series. I've played REmake and RE4, and I loved them both. You should really try one of the more classic ones, if you're interested.

I prefer the Silent Hill series. Not for the gameplay mechanics, but for the very creepy/disturbing atmosphere and storyline associated with it. Resident Evil has kind of gone in a different direction than I would have liked, but it's also a good series. The way I see it, you cannot go wrong with either.

If psychological horror is more your thang, then go with Silent Hill.

If crazy virus's and the effects it causes on the world are more your deal, then go with Resident Evil.

The ending was meant to be confusing and vague. To create more questions than answers. That's the signature of the SH franchise.

Still, my theory is that they simply never left the "world" of Silent Hill. They're trapped.

I prefer RE over SH, RE is much more action oriented than SH, but SH is bigger on the scare factor. So it depends on which one of those factors is more important to you.

Yes, they hate nintendo, their actually planning on blowing the nintendo corp. up in 2012! No man, tey got shattered memories for wii and ps2, now they do anyways. SH is for the more experienced player...actually i cant say that... Both games are great, they both have crappy next-gen games(except SM) SH is for more of the mystery/horror/puzzle game lovers. RE is for more of the action/adventure/hack-slash gamers, that is of course unless you play the older RE's. Both are great, you will have to see for yourself which is best for you.
