Obviously i am a fan of MKDS. I am a snaker. I don't think it is bad at all. However, some people treat it like the plague. I want to know your opinion about it.
I don't see it as skill. I see it as unfair to those who just want a normal race. It seems like a heated debate, because you think everyone's on one side, but then you realize that there's a large number of people who don't see it as a problem. It was said by one of the Nintendo guys that the snaking method wasn't meant to be part of the game, so I myself would rather just play the game the way it was intended to be played.
The only time I don't mind a snaker is when they attempt to snake, but then just boost into the grass. Then it's funny.
As far as I am concerned I think it is just a cheap way to race. As the guy above me said it wasn't intended to be in the game. I don't snake and never will when I play the game. I thought it would be fun to play it online when I bought it but my opinion changed once I noticed almost everyone snakes. People do it because they don't want to lose. I don't understand why they can't just race for fun. I only race with friends of mine who I know don't snake.
Driving normally is boring as hell for me, Snaking makes me feel as if I'm drifting in and out of turns. The best matches I have are against other snakers.

Yeah, only drifting from side to side in a straight looks pretty dumb. If I want to play a drift racing game, I'd get Burnout Dominator, Ridge Racer or Initial D on the PSP. :) I like drifting, but I don't like snaking. I don't think MK should be played that way so I don't bother racing against snakers.

I like drifting, but I don't like snaking. I don't think MK should be played that way so I don't bother racing against snakers.I usually don't do it on straights, unless I'm facing someone snaking like crazy. For the most part I just use about 2 or three boosts to get out of turns.
well it is a "skill", it's not like they're cheating, but it's kinda unfair imo, cause everyone doesn't know how to do it and it's kind of hard to master.
