19, going 20 in July Baby!! Nintendo 4 Life.^Topic
Simple question. Just curious.
Im 17.

BTW, we're not that old. We're just the original Nintendo gamers ;) :P :)
38.
Been playing video games over 30 years now, and see no reason to stop.
27, here.
I suspect that there's going to be alot of older gamers. Me and my crotchity old friends look at the new ultra violent shooter games coming out for Xbox and just aren't attracted to them. It's like we've done the ultra violence, we've grown up, our testosterone has dropped and we want to play video games. Not get our aggression out. The Wii satisfies that, because the games are a bit more...retro. It reminds me of the Super Nintendo in a way. Which was the hey day for us old guys and our games.

Totally agree ... as life changes, so has what I play changed. The only thing the same is that I'm having fun and playing for a bit just about every day.
I'm 20 and have been a Nintendo only gamer since my SNES days...see no reason to change that just to get 10 different FPS games that practically are the same every year.
22, 23 on May 28.
And c'mon, nobody's old here! I've played WoW with people older than anybody who's posted here so far.

I don't wanna start a debate or anything but your not going to change either if you keep the false mentality that other systems only have FPS.
I'm 21... I've been gaming since my brother first got an NES, one of my very first games a Sesame Street game  I've pretty much been gaming since then. I'm still very much a casual gamer in the games I play, but I still love gaming as much as I did way back when!

I think you can attribute the varying age groups to the fact that the Wii is a casual system and has something that appeals to everyone.

If you havn't noticed, most of the people that posted are over twenty. I bet if this same topic was on other system forums there would be alot more variety.23

Or, you know, that it offers an experience that isn't entirely Zombies, Army games and FPS.
But, you know, whatever... it's teh cazuals.
Wow its kinda creepy how most of them are over the age of 20 haha im 17 and i dont realy play video games that much anymore i have a life a job a band n stuff better to do ha! Thise topic has inspired me to not be like thess ppl. Wene im 20 ill still play games every once in a long will probly bc my kids will have them haha just wow hahaha :)Toothpick91
Way to generalize.
I'm getting married in May, I have a career in a very exciting industry, and I spend a lot of time working/volunteering in the community.
I just happen to spend my downtime gaming when I can. I certainly play less than I used to, but if you think that anyone who games that's over 20 is a loser, you're dead wrong.

don't worry -starman- soon your marrage will be dull (i don't mean that in a bad way) and you'll be playing again. I'm in a career, married all that.. after SNES i didn't have a console until wii. now i play quite a bit, usually when the wife is sleeping. games are better then TV, thats for sure[QUOTE="Toothpick91"]Wow its kinda creepy how most of them are over the age of 20 haha im 17 and i dont realy play video games that much anymore i have a life a job a band n stuff better to do ha! No, you wouldn't be insulted if you were 25. You'd have realized by then that the sterotypes you made about older people are forgotten as you reach another age group and you'd be laughing at the naivity of the young. You know...karma and all that. ;)

On the contrary, I never played games when I was a teenager because I was too busy meeting girls and playing sports. I'm finally in my 30's and I have time to play games.

and that's funny, i play the most when she's in bed, too. I get up at the same time every day, even weekends, so I'm out of bed before 8am most of the time. She sleeps until noon, giving me a solid 4 hours to play whatever I want.
She likes Animal Crossing/Mario Kart/We Ski and such, so we play those together too.
And games are better than TV with one exception... The Amazing Race. They could have an Amazing Race channel that aired episodes 24/7 and I would never get tired of it.
Growing up is weird, and it happens so suddenly.

Completely OT but I totally agree. Not sure where you are but Outdoor Life Network here in Canada aires past seasons of TAR.
22 - been gaming since I was about 4. I have two older brothers, so between us we have owned:
ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, NES, Mega Drive, Sega CD, SNES, Amiga (can't remember which) Game Boy, Game Boy Colour, PS1, N64, PS2, GBA, Gamecune, Xbox, Wii. Although I must add we all own Wii's but Im the only one who still plays most of those systems. They had PS2's, a PS1 and a SNES but got rid of them, and I went out and re-bought a SNES and PS2.
I think they would qualify as being the "lapsed gamers" Nintendo has been targetting this gen. My parents also won a Wii and a DS.

Yeah, I used to watch it on OLN all the time when I got home from work, but then they changed when it airs. I still catch it when I can, but it's far less than I would like.
If they released the seasons on DVD with extra content, I would definitely pick it up.
