Shadow Dragon wasn't all that great. It had some nice fixes to the gameplay, but the story was almost nonexistant, some characters had literally no introductions at all, and it was just lackluster overall. The final boss was a complete pushover too.
FE Awakening has sold better in Japan than any game in the series and is getting critical acclaim. This should sell pretty well in other territories, and if it doesn't I'll pick up the slack myself. :P
The first FE game I played was Sacred Stones and that was because of the 3DS Ambassador Games. Before that, I had very little interest in the series.
I am definitely buying Awakening.
I bought Shadow Dragon. I thought it was a great game, the story was lacking sure, but it's a remake of an NES game, I expected that. But the gameplay was still very fun.
I have boughten every Fire Emblem game released here (Except the first) and will definitly buy this one too. I also plan on finally getting my hands on a copy of the first game released here as well before then.
I acutally didn't know if fire emblem what was released till around path of radiance. And even then I didnt know I liked it till my friend let me borrow fire emblem on the GBA (the first one released here) afterward I borrowed Scared Stones and I was hooked! Decided to by all the fire emblems, and when shadow dragon was released I did buy it, it just happened to be about a month or two after it was released. Anywho I will totally by this one along with FE12 (I SHALL IMPORT!!!!) But ya my body is ready this time!
I purchased the last two Fire Emblem games (I didn't get into the series until Radiant Dawn) and I will definitely purchase Awakening.
I got the ds fire emblem day one and it was such an amazing game (besides the online). I just think its funny how minutes after the conference everyone is like "where is fire emblem" when when the ds game sold very bad. I think people don't know what they have until it's gone and I am very surprised that Nintendo would ever localize another one ever again so I hope all those people who were angry actually buy the game. Did you buy FE shadow dragon? if not, then why?Ghost120xI bought Shadow Dragon. I sold it a few days later because it felt like a half dozen steps back from Sacred Stones(best Strategy RPG ever!). The characters just felt empty and the story didn't grab me. Sacred Stones started out with betrayal on a national scale and was populated by characters that lived and breathed- they all had their own motivations and prejudices and senses of humor. It was just excellent in every way. And then Shadow Dragon was just kinda... bleh. I found out later that it was supposed to be a remaster of the first(I think) FE, and it made more sense. I will buy the 3ds game because hopefully it will have everything that Shadow Dragon lacked, and the 3d battle animations ought to be awesome.

Awakening is an all new game so it wouldn't have features removed.

Shadow dragon had cool features. But what I was after was an amaing story and great characters. That's how Sacred Stones set the hook.i've played both the fe for the gba (though i came close but never finished either) but i never got the ds one because from what i've read, it was a remake and had some mechanics that were a step back from the gba titles. However, i will be getting the 3ds one. It looks to introduce some cool new features and tactical mechanics.
I bought the last FE game, new, and i'll buy this.
That one was really poor for a FE game, though. It's understandable that they wouldn't release the game that was similar to it.
Fire Emblem rules, so I will definitely be on the look out for this. I actually thought that Shadow Dragon was a rather weak entry in the series (Path of Radiance remains unsurpassed for me).
Tales of the Abyss and Fire Emblem are going to be the only 3DS games I'll own this year. Pretty Dissapointed with 3DS library so far. I guess I'll just play old DS games I never played.

I have purchased every U.S. released Fire emblem, so at least I'm doing my part. I will pick this one up too as I always try to support any form a Japanese RPG or in this case Strategy RPG, I hope it sells well too.
[QUOTE="Pixel-Perfect"][QUOTE="Rod90"]No, I hate Fire Emblem.Rod90
I used to think you were cool.

Hahaha, I'm sorry, but I'm just being honest. :SNext time keep your terrible opinions to yourself. D:
I love Fire Emblem. Have purchased them all in the US. Awakening is my most anticipated game. Shadow Dragon is the only one I haven't finished playing - I will, but it didn't draw me in like the others as much.
