I would have probably been disappointed if it didn't, it just adds a new dimension of reality. It would've been so silent without it. Heck, even MGS1 had voice acting, as outdated as it may be.

I'm not sure, as I've just seen trailers and stuff from the game (I live in Europe, unable to get it), but I really hope it doesn't take away the "mystical feel" that the previous Prime games had. Silence fits Metroid. I hope the voice-acting does too.

I thought it fit very well in the context of what happens in the game. Reading about dead civilizations is one thing, but having living breathing people talk to you through text only just doesn't work for me. Not in this day and age. I'm glad they moved on from the more nostalgic approach they've had with Zelda.

Once again I must put your worries to rest. You'll do all your exploring and stuff in mostly all silence except for the amazing soundtrack but certain bosses talk as well as your allies and whatnot. It retains that isolated Metroid feel while expanding itself. The beginning and end of the game are the only times you are really connected to the others in the world.

its just adds to the overall package of the game....reading text can momentarily take you out of the expirience sometimes, but voice acting keeps you immersed

I don't know it just doesn't seem to fit, Nintendo's games always seem about crafting the world around the players perception. I mean when
Ghor talk he doesn't sound like the badass I imagined him and the Aurora sound way to "robotic" for my tastes.
I thought it fit very well in the context of what happens in the game. Reading about dead civilizations is one thing, but having living breathing people talk to you through text only just doesn't work for me. Not in this day and age. I'm glad they moved on from the more nostalgic approach they've had with Zelda.Ponmop

Not all games need voice acting and not everyone likes it, just look at the Sonic series or most JRPG's.

Which is why the solution is to have the option to turn voice actin and subtitles off and on. That way, everybody can customize to their liking.

Agreed, Persona 3 offered this feature which I was very pleased with. It's just that some games only allow voice acting while few are only text, well discounting handhelds.

Duckman5

Does the ending depend on the percentage of completion?

*edit* a preemptive explanation: yes, I can see from your sentence that indeed the ending seems to differs when you have completed it 100%, but please elaborate in what way.

Actually i didn't know the game was going to have voice acting before i got it so when i put it in i was like :shock:WHAT!?!?!!? but then i realized i could skip thier babbling and i was happy:D..

..but really the voices didn't take away from anything and the lack of voice acting in certain areas makes sense your on a barren panet with primitive creatures.. (although it did bug me that Randus didn't talk when you fought him:() ....I meen come on intergalactic bounty hunters don't like to talk to people that much they would rather blow something up and get paid:P....................:shock:WAIT!?! does samus get paid?

It depends on amount of pickups and when you get all 100 then you get the ultimate ending. I don't know what the other 2 endings were though so I can't compare them. I think in the worst one Samus dies.

really? I think that wouldn't happen, because prime 3 happens before super metroid and fusion. I think it would only show *spoiler* her in her ship saying the mission accomplished. Not the part in skytown when she is sitting down without her helmet. End spoiler*

They could make the worst ones however they wanted as kind of a "What if" and only the 100% completion is the real ending.

If any game should have contained voice acting, it was Metroid. "Finally" is the only word that really comes to mind. Honestly, if the voice acting is good, and the context is right, I would like to have voice acting in all of my games.

It's a great addition. If it merely used text and no voice acting,it would feel out of place in a game like Metroid Prime 3.

I like how it's not like everyone is mute before, however, people, this is Metroid...

What made the original prime so amazing is the feeling of lonliness and confusion. Having to search for the story rather than it being handed to us.

I honestly don't like the Halo like beginning, but it is a change of pace. I just hope the next Metroid returns to the sense of seclusion

I completely agree. SPM was the game that made me get off the fence and onto the side in favor of voice acting. Seriously, if you think about it, does it really make sense that people would walk around, stand two feet away from each other and then start a conversation by typing to each other? Real people talk, and if games want us to believe their characters are real people, then they will give them voices.

I know that, but when I say secluded I dont only mean other talking to Samus, but how the game is set up. MP3 is way linear compared to the first prime. And because of this, there is no reason to see what's behind this corner or that one. The combination of no voice acting and no direct way to each next objective made the first one so special. And with the Aurora Unit thing that keeps talking seems as though she knows each planet like the back of her hand. In the first one it was all about Samus, and only samus...

its just my opinion though...

Does anyone agree with/ or see what I'm saying?

looks at this quote from Game Informer

I thinks it's very well said

"I always admired Metroid for its story that didn't require lots of senseless dialogue to make its point. In Corruption, this has all changed with the introduction of bad cutscenes and even worse voiceover work. Next up are the giant worlds - the hallmark of any Metroid game - that I love to explore in search of upgrades and clues. While the upgrades and clues still exist, the world has been chopped up into bite-sized little pieces to make it easier, I presume, to digest Metroid's exploration. In the end, it makes it all feel like Nintendo took my favorite cut of prime beef, and ground it up to make a nice fast-food hamburger for the masses. Now don't get me wrong, it's a great hamburger, but it's not the fantastic steak I have come to expect from the series."

That's what I'm talking about...

I think Nintendo should of added voice acting in Zelda, it would of been a bit nicer.

YES! that would have made LOZTP much better if voices were in it. Zelda should follow MP3 have everyone but the hero talk in the game. The voice acting and the cool little cutscenes made this my favorite in the prime games.

I think the voice acting in Prime 3 was superb. I just don't want to hear Samus start talking.

Hell no. Zelda should NOT have voice acting, that would be the last game that should. I mean it would be fine if they spoke Hlian and have you read the text, but they shouldn't speak so you can understand what they are saying.
Its really good. It fits the game well.. i just wish samus replied instead of standing their like a bimbo.Duckman5

Hahaha. Is it my imagination or did she talk at the very end when the credits were rolling by?

I havent finished it yet!! :(

I got 100% completion and the ending was fitting.

WOW 100%. Thats hard to obtain.

If you *Spoilers I guess* Launch the sattelites it's easy to see where everything is. Then you just need to thoroughly explore the Valhalla and you're set. *End spoilers*

i did that, i got all the items in EVERY place where you can launch a sattelite, checked every room in the valhalla, did i miss something on the GFS Olympus or in the winter world or what? (i dont think thats a spoiler, is it?)
