So why does it seem like so many people are selling their 3DS's?

Sure 3D is a bit gimmicky, but it seems like the amount of games are really starting to pick up and it's making me really excited (even though I do not have a 3DS). Are you guys happy with your 3DS purchase? Did you think about selling it or have you sold it already?

Looks like patience is a virtue. ;)

I was happy paying the full price for it! For it to go down $100 was just shocking. I think this is one of Nintendo's best consoles, feature-wise. I don't know of anyone who is selling one, but I'm very pleased with my purchase. :) On a semi-related topic.. I hope LttP will come to the 3DS store, so I can have the first 5 Zelda games on my 3DS. :3

It's all about RPG games..... I don't like the e-shop or whatever else they added. They should've focused on what they were good at, bringing RPG games over from Japan. 3DS shouldn't have been "3D" HD was good enough, remove e-shop and just focus on games.

Since when is Nintendo good at bringing Japanese RPGs over from Japan? *Still waiting for Xenoblade and the second Fire Emblem game*

I think it's because there best games not coming out till 012 , like KH3D, RE: Revelation and Tales of Abyss. But I'm happy with my 3DS, with OoT and I still have DS titles to play. Besides, this year we are getting lots cool games like Mario Land 3D and Mario Kart 7. Those games should keep me busy till KH3D come out.

Because we got screwed, we paid a lot of money for outdated hardware, Sonys Vita would have destroyed it so Nintendo had to admit defeat, going down in price and add a second analog stick so I feel evern more screwed, add that to no games, 3rd parties running away from the sinking ship and the 3D on it getting old fast (I don't want to hold the 3DS as it wants to be holded oO)

Very true. I'm not selling my 3DS, but i'm buying a Vita. The games look far more promising and the hardware is alteast great for the next years to come. And a 2nd analog stick. All Nintendo seems to do is screwing us. Great games are coming, but i won't buy them (maybe 1 or 2) because my loyalty lies with Sony now, Nintendo f**** up.

Nintendo has great games, that's why i'm keeping my 3DS (pokemon, mario).

I bought it, but I've only opened it to set-up the ambassador account. It's been in the box since then. I do think that nintendo has been making some pretty poor decisions concerning the 3DS.

And freaking Mother 3....Though for that game, I gave up on a Nintendo localization looong time ago and just went ahead and played it.

The only 3DS RPGs out in Japan are a Tales Of The Abyss port and ports of the PSP games Class Of Heroes I &UnchainedBlades Rexx. 3DS development in Japan is slow going and even Japan won't be seeing very many good original games until around early - mid 2012.

I'm not a bit disappointed with my 3DS. When the eshop and browser missed launch I didn't care because I almost never use either of those. I love the games I've got so far (DoA, TLoZ: OoT, and Shin Megami Devil Survivor) and can't wait for Mario, Mario Kart, Icarus, Tales of Abyss, + a few more.

I'm actually thinking about selling my launch day 3DS while I still can. I sure as heck do not want to use that second analog attachment do-hickey. It's funny how the launch 3DS is turning out to be the same as the Tank original DS.

I think u people are little overreacting to this. Do u remember how PS3 was when it first lunched or XBOX 360 with hardware failure. Nothing surprising here, almost all consoles or handhelds struggle in there first few month before they take off. I think it's your own fault buying the hardware in the first day, I even go as far as say it's damn right stupid. I always buy my consoles or handhelds after the price drop or when stronger games comes out. that's how I bought my PS3, 360, DS, PSP and 3DS, and I will buy PSV the same way.

C'mon now, that second stick attachment is even worse. I wonder what developers think of this. The odd thing was that it became pretty apparent that a second stick was wanted in the form of psp complaints. Bottom line is it should have been there from the start. That attachment makes the Virtual Boy look like the Mona Lisa.

Ah hyperbole, it'll take you to the moon and back. But seriously, Nintendo being a generation behind in terms of hardware hasn't been news since the Gamecube days(excluding the excellent GBA). The only difference here is that with 3DS, Nintendo is attempting to correct the situation. What do they get from the gaming community for their efforts? Disdain. Rage. Insults. I wouldn't count on ever seeing a game company try this hard to please the so-called "Core" gamer ever again. They're obviously a contentious, unpleasant lot that don't deserve the consideration.

I think you are sorely mistaken. First we don't know the complete details of this device, but there's been tangible negativity surrounding Nintendo over the past few months. Let's be hypothetical and say that the attachment is a requirement for future games. Where does this leave developer trust? Do they develop specifically for the dual sticks? Do they botch the single stick version? This attachment is very akin to the SegaCD/32X, more than anything else.

To be fair though, the DS was the best handheld platform for JRPGs over the PSP unless you understand Japanese, then its actually quite close.

Okay, hypothetically- Big N tells their 3rd party devs that the 2nd stick is here to stay. Devs shoehorn camera control+2nd stick controls into their game that is currently in development. Then all future titles are developed for 2sticks. What question is there of trust? And no, this is not similar to 32x/Sega CD. There is no precedent for what Nintendo is doing. (What they're doing, by the way, is changing the future of their product- a smart move for the Gamers out there, if perhaps an unsound business decision regarding the casuals(who I'm still not convinced even bought the device in the first place).) This would be more akin to Virtual Boy if Nintendo had found a way to address the main concern(red/black monochromatic graphics), and implemented it so that people who had bought the system could also get color(via some kind of filter over the eyepieces, maybe?) before they released a new "VB Color." Yeah, my hypotheticals can get pretty out there. I just don't understand the opposition here- we're talking about a feature that has been standard on game controllers since 2000! Playstation invents the Dual analogue controller, Dual Shock 2 remains the gold standard in gaming input devices, Xbox, Gamecube, Wii, 360 and PS3 all have twin sticks. Even the DS and the Wiimote provide a reasonable facsimile of twin stick input(see FPSs on DS and Wii for further info). When we were still gobbling up every word, every new image of the 3DS on these boards before launch, there was outrage when it became apparent that it would not have a right stick. Now Nintendo is correcting that mistake and people are further outraged. I just can't shake the impression that most of these people are saying 'F*** Nintendo' because it's cool to be anti-big business these days.

Sure 3D is a bit gimmicky, but it seems like the amount of games are really starting to pick up and it's making me really excited (even though I do not have a 3DS). Are you guys happy with your 3DS purchase? Did you think about selling it or have you sold it already?

Well Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus, and Paper Mario 3DS should be coming out soon...

Yeah, maybe it's not picking up a whole ton, but some great core games will be coming out soon. :/ I dunno, but seeing this stuff makes me want a 3DS.

To tell the truth, I have used my 3DS much more than what i used my DSLite. I take it with me, have found many people with street pass . The down side is that is doesn't received lots of quality games that aren't remakes.

Why did you make such an early purchase then? I personally bought the 3DS around the time OoT came out knowing thats probably the first title I wanted to pick up. After completing it, RE:Mercs 3D came out not long after. Now there is about a two month wait for my next purchase and another month wait for the game after that.

I don't understand all these people complaining about having the system with not much to play, but never did their research before making the purchase. I knew how long I'd have to wait in between each purchase, decided it was worth it and bought it anyway. So my question to you is, why are you surprised with this result?

Lack of games and the inevitable redesign have held me off from buying one in the first place.

Sony understands this and they've geared up for an impressive launch line up. The 3DS's game library doesn't seem like it's going to take off until sometime later next year. Also, a number of 3rd party developers have axed their projects.

It all comes down to the games and right now the 3DS is not delivering.

You should be thinking about it more akin to the Wii Motion+. It's a totally optional accessory for bothe developrs and gamers and hasn't splintered or hindered gaming in any way. On top of that, every game released that needs this add-on has it the thing BUNDLED WITH IT. On top of that, devs wouldn't truncate their potential market by making their control scheme only one or the other. Clearly they would either develop the OPTION for either scheme (like Monster Hunter 3 is doing) or bundle the add-on. Stop being such a cynic

I'm a little upset with day one pricing... But everything is coming together. Premature launch, enough said. Crap happens and early adopters always eat some of it. Anyway, I'm not disgusted with the add on stick either. It should have been there day one but at least the problem is remedied instead of being ignored. I'm convinced those of you complaining would complain either way. Enjoy the system for what it is. If you don't like it, go buy a PSP or Vita.

Sure 3D is a bit gimmicky, but it seems like the amount of games are really starting to pick up and it's making me really excited (even though I do not have a 3DS). Are you guys happy with your 3DS purchase? Did you think about selling it or have you sold it already?

Looks like patience is a virtue. ;)

I'm slighty happy it's just the games at the moment most of the games I've picked up seem rushed and short. The most I've played on the system is Resident Evil Mercenaries as it makes good use out of the multiplayer online. I don't plan on selling it I'm waiting for the main 3 games I got the system for Mario Kart, Mario Land and Resident Evil Revelations.

I am annoyed that Nintendo have restricted the 3DS games to certain regions meaning I can't play American/Japanese games on my 3DS as restrict to games bought only in the PAL regions. I hate this as your missing out on games that will never get released in my region. What I like about the DS is that I could import games like Ouendan from Japan a game that was never coming out in the PAL or NTSC regions and play it on my European DS.

I like the games I've bought for it but goddamn Nintendo get your **** together and fast. There's no reason to even sell it now (price cut).
