People say it's recommended to play Wii games using the pointer at around 3 meters away from the sensor bar. So won't it be hard to talk normally so far away from the WiiSpeak with people hearing you correctly? And being so close to the TV, the sound from the TV will be heard in WiiSpeak, no? Well that's unless we don't have to place WiiSpeak over the sensor bar like shown in the vid. Not sure but still... there can be some complications.

Your thoughts?

Nintendo said everyone in the room could talk, so the mic should be good enough to hear you a good 6ft away from it.

i think the range of the wii speak is wider than the range of the pointer function.

nintendo never makes crappy stuff. their conference was a disappointment, BUT theres no way they'll release the wii speak before making sure it works perfectly

Background noise could be a problem.

Modern microphones are pretty darn good. I seriously doubt they would make a microphone that you're intended to place on your TV and then make you have to be like one foot away from it for it to work.

If possible, I think I'm just going to place WiiSpeak beside me on my table so it only picks up what I'm saying and not any background noise. Also I'd be able to cover it if they forger to put in an off button. >_>

The WiiSpeak will work just fine. Mics today are as reliable as that.
