Why not rent it? You could look at the "You Say" rating on the review page just to get a general idea of what other players think.
Btw,  it's 7.9, which means that generally those who have played like it better than the professional reviewer.
The battling is just as bad as the other spiderman games. There are some glitches in the coding and design here and there but it seems like a lot of decent games have more of those these days. The worst thing I can think of is that the graphics are worse than the Gamecube graphics and better than the N64 compared to past spiderman games. Textures, etc. If the Gamecube is a 10 and N64 is a 1, then this spiderman game would be around a 7.

What makes this game special is the controls though. The fighting could have used more options, yes. Maybe the next games in the line will have more fighting options, but the swinging - its bliss. Flick your controller - shoot a web. Flick the nunchuk - shoot a web. Imagining it is one thing, but actually doing it so much better. This is the same type feeling that probably inspired Spiderman games to begin with! I've never thought it would feel this good though. I love it. I played for hours at a friends house, just swinging and taking care of gangs (doing pretty much the same exact tasks over and over) yet for some reason, i want to play it again because it "felt" so good. That is what the Wii is about and despite the technical flaws of the game, they managed to let the Wii shine through and it makes it magical because of it. I don't know if this development team takes the Wii seriously or not based on the graphics and other annoyances, but dang did they stumble upon what we all hoped they would with the controls.
Is spidey 3 really that bad for the wii, (gamestop gave it a 4.7 or something???!!>>)I would like for somebody who actually played the game for the wii and likes the wii to tell me if its good or its bad.tayla25

Look it up on metacritic. The scoring so far is not as bad as the 360 game. But I have no money to buy a game yet and if I do buy a game it will be for my DS next being that I have neglected the DS gaming catalog for a while.
I agree with mmnin, although I must say that I do enjoy the combat system only because there is a variety of moves to combo up. I think the key to enjoying the combat is to play like Spidey would fight: dodge all over the place, vault over the villains, jump off walls, web one guy, vault another, rodeo spin one, web one, uppercut to setup for an aerial attack, etc. If you just try to do the 3, 4, 5, 6 attack combos all the time (ie. flick, flick, flick, flick, flick, press A), the combat IS boring but only because you might be limiting yourself.
Swinging around is heavenly. The sense of speed (when you can consistently boost), the turning a corner into a wall only to leap off of it and continue swinging without breaking your stride... awesome.
That said, the graphics are mediocre but not as bad as those high up screenshots that have been going around. There are some glitches, but nothing I thought was gamebreaking (I'm 3 hours in). All in all, it's a fun game if not an 'objectively' good game... sorta like Red Steel (although Red Steel felt much more polished).
dont buy it.. rent it. Its not worth the money for a buy.
i would honestly give it a 6/10. It has good controls for swinging, bad camera controls, lame fighting controls, and a so-so story. its too short, and also many, many glitches. plus.. bad graphics for most parts. Â
The only thing worse than the game is the movie. AcousticDoc
Hey don't say that the movies awesome!!!Â
