no game should ever get a 10, nothing is ever perfect, so the 9.5 it got is about as good as it gets. not even bioshock was perfect, like most people say it was.tastycasey27

but ocarina of time WAS perfect!

my question is: if I don't like most of the NIntendo characters (mario, link, to name a few, although I like snake and Metroid girl), would I enjoy this game over other simple "2-button" fighting games such as dragon balls z?

I raise the comparison between this game and dragon ball z because, both games, ultimately are fan services. If strip down all the characters you love, what we have left is a "2-button" type of fighting game. So my question is, for poeple who really don't care/like the Ninten characters, would they still like the game?

No. Super Smash Bros is a franchise known to see Nintendo characters fighting each others. You don't like Nintendo characters I don't think you'll like the game.

yes. they made it sound overly simple by saying "two button". because theres like... tons of attacks.

Damn it, now i will have to get a wii for this, galaxy, mario kart wii, metroid and Zelda's TP.

And I was planning on getting a ps3 for MGS4 and for blue-ray. Now I made my choice =P.

It will probably end up like SMG and get 2nd best of all time after being first for a while. I highly doubt GS will give it a 10, but I couldn't imagine them giving it a 9 or lower. All of the GotY candidates from last year ended up with a 9.5 and I really don't think they're going to say "Yeah, SSBB was better than all of those." I've heard a few minor complaints from other sites, not much, but enough to knock it down .5 points. That and the fact that it's a Wii game so the graphics won't be as good as the 360, PS3 or PC.

I'm willing to bet it'll be a 9.5

Wow! Lark Anderson is a bland reviewer. Not to be harsh, but the guy is really...boring. Anyway, this is obviously a must have game, but I can't seem to find any stores besides GameStop that are having midnight sales. I'm not a big believer in pre-orders, but it seems that all GameStops' are only getting enough copies for the pre-ordering folks.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but that's just downright bs, no? Did Nintendo run out of CDs or something? :P

Gamestop says that for every game that comes out. Sometimes they really only have enough for pre-orders, sometimes they have more.

I just don't shop there any more because of that, unless I can't find a game anywhere else.

And yeah, woot for GS giving it 9.5. Really surprised me, I was expecting 9.0 tops. Great to be a Wii owner, 2008 is of to a great start.

I hope there'll be no Brawl shortages in the store I'll be getting it at, whatever store that may be. Can't wait for Super Brawl Sunday.

Journey as in the mall, or Rogers Video. Most likely Rogers wont have it since they always get games to buy late.

Rentals are always on time though.

honestly, i don't like the review. it's just too short imo. and if u read the review the video review is (as always) kinda boring because it's basically the same text and info.

why isn't there any multiplayer action in the video review? u talk about it in the written one, but wasn't it possible to get 2 gs reviewers to play on one wii for the video?

why don't u talk more about the controls? e.g. there's nothing said about how good the remote+nunchuck control works.

i'm not one of the guys who hyped brawl and i still don't understand what's so amazing about this game. it's basically tekken with less controls and nintendo characters and that's the must have game? ur review doesn't really show why u should buy this game if ur not crazy about finding out if link is better then mario.

It is Resident Evi l4 umbrella chronicals?? No i didn't think so. Also SMG never got GOTY it got an editors choice off of this website..... that means nothing i still will hate the game.

1) in the supmerse emessary, im in the jungle where you get donkey kong and diddy kong. i reach the part where therez like a ferris wheel, but ur on a platform and the door you cam from to get there is in the middle. i iill the koopas and the mushrooms, but i dunno where to go from there, does any1 no where i am and what to do?

2) how do u unlock snake, sonic, luigi, marth, falco, etc?
