Get Super Smash Bros. Melee, Brawl probably won't come until early 2008. I also wouldn't expect Zelda to drop in price until much later...

I'm sure by the time november comes around, they're will be more details on whether or not brawl will be coming out that year. If its not than you should definately get Melee.

If you have a gamecube and you still don't have melee, you should get it as soon as possible, especially if you have some friends or siblings to play with. (Plus, it's probably only $20ish)

Nah, buy both. Even if the new one comes out, it's not going to be the same. I remember reading that some of the characters in Melee wont be in Brawl. Also, it easier to get 4 GC controllers together than 4 Wiimotes + whatever they are going to use [nunchuck or classic].

oh really! one of the reasons i was looking at getting brawl instead of melle was because i thought that it would have the chracters from melee plus more new ones.

i don't think this guy knows what he's talkin about, i wouldn't trust those statements without sources (nintendo has made it all but obvious you can play the new smash brothers with the gamecube controller). that said, melee is amazing, you should get it, its not that expensive.

Topic Creator, listen up. I'm a huge Super Smash Bros Melee fan. I play the game competitively and participate in tournaments on a regular basis. Get Melee ASAP. It is a fantastic multiplayer game. Many of the skills that you learn in Melee will transfer over to Brawl, so that when you do get Brawl later this year you won't be a complete noob. Also, some characters from Melee will be in Brawl. The confirmed ones so far are Link, Mario, Pikachu, Kirby, Samus, and Fox. No one knows when Brawl is coming out, and you may as well enjoy one of the greatest games of all time right now.

Get both, man. SSBM is the best game ever made imo and SSBB will probably be the best game ever made when it comes out. You won't regret it, trust me.

Dang it, I pre-ordered it too. I could have spent that money on something else.

Getting on topic, buy Melee. I've had it since my 10th B-Day. I'm 14 now and I play it still on a regular basis.

Just wait for Brawl. Honestly I Melee felt like a downer to me. I liked the original alot more. Maybe get the original when it comes out on the virtual console as well.
