You make it seem as though opinions on GameSpot actually matter in the real world. Neckbeards =/= people who actually enjoy movies.

When I was young and didn't know any better I thought this was cool, but now it looks and sounds too weird. Why couldn't they make an honest-to-goodness and faithful Super Mario film? It shouldn't be that hard.
But, lookie here everyone. http://www.smbmovie.com/SMBArchive/preproduction/script.htm
Those are some scripts that the writers thought of before the release of the film. One for a Fantasy script, a Ghostbusters-inspired sci-fi/comedy script, a Die Hard-inspired sci-fi/action script, and a "Max Max-inspired sci-fi/action script. There was quite a bit of re-writing going on with this, so follow that link if you dare.
I thought it was legitimately awesome as a kid. Many years later, when I picked it up on DVD, I realized just how cheesy it really was. The nostalgia goggles were shattered, but in their place, I felt the movie was even better in a "so bad it's good" sort of way. When I was young and didn't know any better I thought this was cool, but now it looks and sounds too weird. Honestly forget a movie..
Have you guys seen a show called Wipeout?
Or Ninja Warrior.
What would be nice is a Mario Themed gameshow like that... Players have to play it in real life, jumping over the goomba's and whatnot.. This I would actually like to check out lol.
But another Mario Movie... No I am good.
Well, it it was Shigeru Miyamoto repeatedly stabbing Bob Hoskins and everyone else involved with the movie for the duration of two hours set to various Mario soundtracks, it might be worth a rent.TheFallenDemonHe can go stab himself, Bob Hoskins > Miyamoto. Didn't like the movie? Blame the writers, or blame yourself.
