Don't rely on those rumors that people put on the Internet...I mean even the release date hasn't been announced for the game yet. (at least I don't think so...) As for SSBB supporting online play, I really don't think it's going to happen, because Nintendo never really releases games with online support, but you never know, it is a possibility (one that I would hope for) :Pzappy08what are you talking about? ever hear of mario kart ds, animal crossing: wild world, metroid prime hunters??? seriously, you guys need to think before you post. SSBB will have online. it will be riddled w/ friend codes and lack of voice chat when you play strangers, but online nonetheless. you can quote me on that.
"Even better, the game will be fully online playable in addition to featuring a robust multiplayer mode. 'My plan is to include Wi-Fi connection compatibility and online functionality. One of the primary reasons Super Smash Bros. Brawl was created was that Nintendo, when taking Wii online, wanted to have Smash Bros. to do that,' added Sakurai."
Yes this game is def. online.

Wasn't SSBB confirmed online by sakurai?kiruyama
I thought it was too. In fact, i thought that it was announced at the last E3 when the smash trailer was shown. I seem to remember people going crazy that, not only did it have snake, but that they could battel each other online. Hell, didn't even reggie say something about it?
Wtf people? Why are you saying SSBB won't be online? Online was the target from the beginning, and it's something they really have to pull off, since their target audience is counting on it. Infact I think it is confirmed.

Where in that quote did you see them saying 4 player brawls aren't supported? Where did they say "doubtful" and "try"? If anything, SSBB will be a very easy thing to convert to online play. There are most likely no 16 person arenas. If you want to play, you just need to wait for 3 other players (Supposing thats the number they stick to)Â rather than a whole server to fill up. The reason brawl is taking a while is, like Sakurai stated in his quote, "the game will be fully online playable in addition to featuring a robust multiplayer mode". FULLY and ROBUST are used in that section. That means it could take a while, especially if the single player and multiplayer are online. I can't wait to get my brawl on this winter.

Aside from that, what about all those DS on-line games?Â
