Super Smas Bros. One of the top selling games of all time and one of the most best and addicting game. Nintendo DS. Nintendo's greatest creatioon and top-selling console ever. Mixing the two and bam Nintendo is the greatest. So my question to you is this, why the hell has Nintendo not made a SSB game on the DS they could go through the roof. Melee was so great and sold 6 million copies. A DS remkae with some new additions can make it evern better and they will go through the roof. So, why haven't they made this yet? Are they waiting for the right time? A new DS model? After Super Smash Bros. Brawl? What do you, the fans think?
i think it wont happen i really wouldnt want it to, i love smash but playin it on a ds is somthin i wouldnt like. brawl is goin to be the best game next year cant wait for it
first of all, yeah, i've been thinking about a SSB for the DS, and let's be honest, the DS HAS the capabilities to support a game like that. I think Nintendo it's focusing right now in Brawl and the reason they haven't developed a SSB for the DS in my opinion is that they want to make the series more desirable by making a small numbers of games and if you think of it since the first SSB there had only been 3 and the third has yet to be released. For example look at Mario Party, it's a game that has the almost the same age as SSB and there have been released 8 of them, not to count the GBA and NDS versions and that has make the series too repetitive
It could work, and probably will happen. I actually read an interview once with Miyamoto, and Iawata, and in it they briefly discussed making a smash bros DS game... but this was before the DS became what it is now, so its not that nessessary. Maybe the next handheld.

Everytime I come here, I see this topic. It's not going to happen! Will it ever die? Yes, we all know that it would be great and all, but this topic is overused. And even if it does come out, it'll be a while.

I remember this... there was a continual debate on the Nsider forums about why SSB for DS would or wouldn't work. A lot of good points for both factions were brought up, but the main issue was getting smash attacks to work.
Anyway, I'd supporta smash game for DS, provided the controls worked well.
i think it would be great, but they would need to make another kind of SBB because the melee was so complex to make it to the DS, i dont think they can do the melee for DS, but i hope they make another SBB for the DS
i hope really hope they make it with wi-fi. but nintendo just wants more people to get the wii rather then the ds, becasue the games cost more in the wii........
i don't think a super smash bros. ds is needed very much, but that's just me. the graphics would be weak compared to how we're used to seeing it and to keep the perspective of the camera with all the people on the screen i just don't think it's worth it on a small screen. but this is coming from the guy who's gonna buy bleach ds which has 4 player fighting :P lol
I think it will only happen after SSB Brawl's sales start to drop a lot. They probably wont release it for the DS when the Wii game is just out for a few months, since it might affect the sales.
Then again, the DS's screen might be a little too small for the game, where in some cases, the screen is required to zoom out so much that on the DS, u might not be able to spot ur characters =D And sometimes when too much stuff occurs at the same time, even the GC Game appear to "lag" a bit, so the DS might not be able to support it actually =(
But maybe we can get to see a N64 version remake on the DS =D Or it might not even be happening =(

If anything, i say it could happen, but the fact is, if it did come out there would be some problems with the control scheme and Nintendo may try to implicate the stylus during game-play. If they only use the stylus for the menu screen and I guess for the smash attacks then i could see it coming out. It would also work well because theSSB games have all been 2 dimensional games and what works consoles make the best 2D games... Duh! Portable systems!. Plus online multi-player would be a must.
