Temporary price drop coming on some Sega Genesis games on VC.

Sega is coming with some surprises on the VC. During holidays, Sega will drop the price of some Sega Genesis games from 800 to 500 Wiipoints.

Here's the list of the games to have a price drop:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Gunstar Heroes
Golden Axe
Toe Jam & Earl
Shining Force
Puyo Puyo 2
Altered Beast
Streets of Rage 2

i use to play the heck out of golden axe with a friend when i was younger. i wonder if i would still like it today? for five bucks i might be willing to take a gamble.

Perhaps they release sonic & knuckles right after this sale ? Would be a good move from sega / nintendo to get more people buy it... One can only hope...

oh sweet! will def pick a few of these up. sonic 1 and.... not sure. first thought was shining force, but i'm burnt out on those grid strategy games. streets of rage 2? sonic 2? hrmmm.

damn, just thought about that, haha. hopefully the next nintendo console will have a bigger hard drive and will feature saturn on its vc, heck who knows it may also include dreamcast and gc games too. as i doubt they would discontinue vc in their next console seeing as how they are profiting from just porting games.

I would love to buy almost all of those. ......If they weren't already part of a compilation game on the 360 and PS3 and if half of those weren't already available for $5 with more features on their Marketplaces. Damn, I got excited when I read the title of the thread. Good for people that own only a Wii and plan to only have one for awhile though.

Not sure where you get those comparisions. It's like Fire Emblem, Der Langris, Warsong, Advanced Wars, Super Robot Teisen, etc. But it is a great game, so is Shining Force 2.

Good for those that don't have the games yet. Too bad Shinging Force 2 and any of the Phantasy Star games on the Genesis aren't on sale.
