[QUOTE="Ovirew"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"][QUOTE="Ovirew"] [QUOTE="TheLordMagnus"]People's expectations are way too high. At most, Nintendo announces one maybe two big titles at E3 with some other smaller, supporting titles. They aren't going to announce Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, Zelda, Mario, Smash Brothers 4, Metroid, Pokemon, Star Fox, all at the same E3.Jaysonguy
But with what we pay this company annually for their games and hardware, they really should have that much to offer us every E3.
Huh?
Why do you think we're paying Nintendo for things in advance? Are you sending them money?
If there's a game on the shelf we buy it, we buy THAT game.
When do any of us send money to Nintendo for something in the future?
You evidently didn't read what I was saying correctly, or didn't think much about what I said. We pay Nintendo, all of us, a TON of money everytime we all go out and decide to buy the newest Zelda or Wii or whatever, we actually made the Wii the # 1 gaming system in this generation's console wars by doing that and caused the Wii to be sold out all over the US. We supported Nintendo through thick and thin and spent our money on their games, we made Nintendo a wealthy developer and publisher, but they can't deliver on the goods every year or at least every other year for us?
We get one major console Mario title every 5 years, the last one sucked in my opinion but we won't see another until the next Nintendo console is produced. New main games in the Pokemon and Pikmin and Metroid etc etc etc series aren't something you hear about very often, and you're telling me that Nintendo can't even so much be working on developing a new title in all of their main franchises so they have something to show for it? So we don't end up with rushed crappy games from the Kirby series, which was once known for its fun and originality in gameplay?
Every year we should see new things going on with EVERY major player in the Nintendo universe - Mario, Zelda, Metroid, DK Country, Star Fox, Kirby, etc etc etc.
Ok, well that's certainly something
We pay Nintendo for goods, that's where it ends
Nintendo doesn't owe us anything because we bought something of theirs, want to know why? Because we have what we bought.
No one is buying a game with the expectation of "Oh I'm doing this favor for you" I mean who is going to think of these purchases as favors? lol If you want to play the games you buy the games, enough about the "supporting" Nintendo. You make it sound like you're handing a buck to homeless person.
Nintendo doesn't owe you or anyone else anything, period.
They offer products and people buy them, that's where it ends.
They're not rewarding you for "favors", they're not sending out IOU's to everyone that buys their products, they're not going to help you move.
They're a busines, not a friend that's had a bit of hard luck.
I completely agree with Jasonguy. Nintendo is a business, and they know it. They have absolutely zero obligation to give their loyal fans what they want...so they decide not to.
Nintendo owes us absolutely nothing...and they pretty much flaunt it. To me it actually seems like the more fans want something in particular, the lower the chances are Nintendo will provide it.
They're a business after all.
