I was watching that fake futuristic Zelda prank a while ago. Here's a link if you haven't seen it.
I don't know if I'm alone in this, but....I thought it seemed like a really, really cool idea. Does anyone else think it looked pretty cool?

I think it looked totally awesome and I would be amazingly happy if Nintendo made a game like that.m1k3m
Agreed. I saw that video awhile ago, but I do think that a futuristic Zelda would be an interesting idea and an awesome change to the franchise.
it would be cool but i do have one minor problem witrh the zelda franchise, and that is, your in a world where people still use bow and arrows, swords, and lamps but (aparently) there is color photography? (See Wind waker if you dont believe me)
yeah i know a litle off topic but it helps me prove my point that a "Future Zelda" would have Time machines during the colonial era and nuclear bombs during the dark ages.

The Zelda world is not realistic, why would you have a problem with a fictional world? It doesn't take place in any real time period.
...im alitlle mix on that, on one hand it looks beautiful and gorgeous, on the other...its just not zelda, thats not what a zelda game is sapposed to be
so if it was a zelda game = dont really like
but if this was an orriganal IP then HELL YES nintendo go for it!!
Yeah it's real likely that Nintendo will make a futuristic world for Link with flying cars and all that other stuff while Link is carrying around a sword with bows and arrows :roll:DanteSuikoden
Not to be a bother, but isn't that kind of what some of the Highlander stuff is like? I never saw it.
i think it would work i mean a lazer bow would not be out of the question, i deffinitly think the control scheme zelda games typical have could fit a futuristic motercycle or something of that nature, maybe in the future link and zelda are folklore, and link returning would be like a big religious moment in this hyrule, in our society how do the most evil people reak havoc, politics, ganondorf could be a fake politician with malice intent to bring hyrule into the darkness. i dont know i do think it is a solid idea to kind of bring the zelda franchise into a differant light but they may not take a risk like that after ww (which i loved) because people still argue if that was a mistake. i mean if mario can go into space zelda can take place in the futureskhellitor
Ganondorf as a politician would be badass...
I think the idea could really be awesome. It's a shame so many people want Zelda to stay the same forever.
Personally if this would come out i wouldnt buy it and i think if it did come out that it would be the lowst seeling Zelda game everWynne_Man
Are you serious? I don't understand how just changing the setting and story to futuristic could make the game so bad that you wouldn't buy it.
For all you doubters out there remember this is Nintendo. They're developers are so talented they could make this work so well.ECG_24
I agree. I wouldn't like to see a futuristic Zelda game because it really wouldn't be a Zelda game. A new franchise with fresh characters would be greatly appreciated though.

Why so they can kill Link and everyone in Hyrule 50 times over? Link vs. lasers = fried Link.
master sword the bane of all evil = blocking lasers:PAlso: The "wood shield" blocked the beems from the "Bemos" in most of the the Zelda games, why can't it block the lasers from the future?
And why can't the Master Sword cut down the bad guys in heavy armor? Link does it to them in all of the others.

BINGO. This is the problem I have with most video gamers - all they ever want is THE SAME OLD CRAP EVERY SINGLE TIME WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FLAVOR. And people wonder why Nintendo has broadened its audience with the Wii. If they only listened to these "hardcore" gamers all the time, they would never be allowed to do anything different. People need to stop being so narrow minded and think outside the box. Remember Wind Waker? Radically different style for a Zelda game, but by and large, it worked.
Nintendo are so brilliant they could figure out a way to do this without ruining the franchise. Example: Ganon comes across some weird dark magic and fast forwards time, but not peoples ages. Link must then journey out and destroy the book to return Hyrule to it's natural state.Dark-Muse
And looking for the Tri-Force in the process.

WW may not have failed, but more people dislike WW than any other Zelda title. I was personally turned off by the cell-shaded graphics and cartoon presentation.
If it wasnt good, though, Zelda fans would blame it on the change in direction. I don't think they'll be making anything like this anytime soon, if only to play it safe.kamikaze_pigmy
TP was about as safe as they could have played it. I enjoyed TP but I don't want another one just like it.
