it's not better than the conduit i think

That's the whole point. Just like the Conduit is a Halo rip-off.I'm surprised nobody has called this game a Left 4 Dead rip-off yet.

They have 'rights' - so long as they do something new with it. If its just a 100% rip off with nothing of their own in it(feature wise, not just different enemies and such) then I won't be impressed much.I'm surprised nobody has called this game a Left 4 Dead rip-off yet.

So its ok if their idea(survival co op) gets used and added internet(LFD) is fine, but is wrong if they follow suit and add swords and wiimotion plus?comon.intro94
Well, I'd rather have something original from a developer - not something thats suppose to be like "x" game - though I can see many people want those type of titles - I'm just a person that doesn't.
Has potential, I might check it out. I might have some anticipation. It was made by the people who made Hunter The Wrecking. These two are pretty simliar, while in the Hunter, you are killing monsters, and so are you in THe Grinder. Four player co-op sounds good, as it will maybe be the best mode. If the Conduit is good, then I dont think this will turn bad, mostly because there both creted by the same people.
I hope they implement a 2 player co-op offline mode as well. inflammable01
Matt: "So far the co-op mode has been working out great, with zero lag while displaying tons of enemies on the screen at once. We've wanted this feature in our games for a long time and we're really proud to be bringing this feature to The Grinder. Oh and there's also split screen coop mode currently running in the demo, which is also pretty awesome for those who may not have access to play together using a Wi-Fi connection."
It's in as of now, so hopefully it stays in;)

this is nothing like lfd because lfd is a 50% zombie game 50% humans (unless you play the gay single player) . lfd game play can be summed up in one word team work if you dont work with your team the next thing you know there is a hunter that jumps outta nowhere and kills you. as zombies your trying to set up combos to confuse the crap out of the survivors e.g boomer vomits a smoker drags one away hunter pounces the guy who comes for him the second hunter grabs the third guy now there are 3 people pinned and one standing covered in vomit good luck too him. that's lfd in a nutshell your not worrying about the normal zombies your fighting a battle against the special infected, their job is to screw you over your job is not to get screwed over.now the grinder will not have players on the other side its just humans but this humans are not survivors they are hunters they all came looking for them the grinder is going to have rpg elements
one of the most obvious differences is one game you survive and the other you hunt

so your saying other then the situation that you play as the grinder is a dumb down l4d campaign onlyharpies are good... maybe mummies too (or too zombie-ish?)... sphinx? cerberus? sasquatch......? they should throw every fairytale villain they can think of....... every creature from every book....... or maybe from myths only... including greek mythology.... it'll be like... an FPS with god of war enemies.....Looking good. I agree about the enemy part though. They need to have it so there is not just those small vampire creatures.
I know there are werewolves, but please have more enemies
alexh_99
sure this is an L4D rip-off (or inspired from, your call), but you know... the world is full of zombies already... every movie/game full of zombies...... why can't anyone think of another creature besides infected humans?
uhm.... i'm already getting tired of seeing the same monster every time.... and i haven't even played it yet! maybe they should make those monsters that come in hordes somewhat barely recognizable... so that it won't get stuck in people minds that easily...greenarcher02While I do hope they add more types of monsters, looking mostly the same isn't that big of a deal. There's usually not a whole lot of easily recognizable variety in a pack of wild animals either, though if you're in to the "cute" thing, I could see making some fat, short, and tall monsters for variety.

I sent them an email suggesting puppets with steak knives, dementors/ring wraits, and clowns with chainsaws. Gargoyles, minotaurs, griffins, devils, and even chuckie.I just watched the trailer, and I must say, this game is looking really good. I won't get my hopes up too high, but I like what I am seeing

[QUOTE="GabuEx"]The problem I have with all of HVS' games is that they always feel like HVS is going "look what we can do!" Rather than going "here is this awesome idea for a game, now let's figure out what technologies we need to make it happen", it feels like they're going "here are the technologies we want to showcase, now let's figure out a game can we build in which to do that". Games like Bioshock, Okami, Metroid Prime 3 - those are all examples of games where everything felt very, very purposeful to me, in which everything was chosen to achieve the core idea of the game, in which the technologies and such like were all a means to that ultimate end, rather than the intended end itself. As a result, I can't shake the feeling that HVS' games, at least what we've seen of them thus far, seem ultimately more akin to extremely glorified, polished, and large tech demos or proofs of concept - ones that may provide ample entertainment even as they are, but ones nonetheless.
If other people find exactly what they're looking for in their games, all the more power to them, but I just don't see that spark of greatness present in what I've seen thus far. Maybe I'll change my tune when I get to play the game and get sucked right in, but right now, that's all I can really say. I mean, I'm sure they'll be enjoyable games in their own right, but as time goes on, I just can't dispel that nagging thought in the back of my head that nothing yet has truly made me sat up and take notice and think, "wow, this really looks like something special".Sepewrath
I know what your mean, its like I said some games transcend past just simple entertainment, from what I seen of HVS' work so far, they wont make it into that exclusive club. But If I only had interest in games like that well I wouldn't play many games I mean so far the only games that I got that feeling from this gen has been Twilight Princess, Fallout 3, MGS 4, Metroid Prime 3, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Mario Galaxy and Assassins Creed. I wouldn't have much of a library if I shopped by those standards. Not saying that you do, but those were games that I was actually sorry to see end. I'm pretty sure I wont have the same feelings for this game or The Conduit but I think I will enjoy them simply as fun games. Your standards are too high Gabu :) stop being such an elitist and give the guys a chance lol.
Well didn't he say he is reserved on this game. Kind of a wait and see attitude. So maybe this insane standard that he is trying to randomly set for this game is not necessarily the deciding factor.Gabu as much as you probably see me (based on the conversations we have had on it) as this blind supporter of HVS, I really am waiting for reviews and confirmation hat their games deliver.
sure this is an L4D rip-off (or inspired from, your call), but you know... greenarcher02
I agree, L4D rip-off...
And i'm sorry but i don't think this wil be as good as valve's game but since there's no L4D on the Wii it can sell great, lets wait and see.
The demo looks fine but this will be totally different in a years time, nobody will recognise it at all, even in single player you'll have three ai allies and loads of allies coming at you in settings like forests, small towns, mines and god knows where else.
